The cab parks in front of the gate and we climbed down. The breeze made us hold our gowns as we walked through the gate.
"Good morning ma'am".
"Morning Josh. How is the family?" I asked closing the gate behind myself.
"They are fine ma'am".
"Good to hear" I smiled before joining Sarah. I looked at the sides of the compound with a smile. We had a garden now.
"Why did you insist on this?" Sarah asks noticing my line of view.
"It makes here feel like home" I grinned. She rolls her eyes before reaching the porch. She twisted the door handle turning back to look at me.
"It's open?"
"That means Gera is home" I replied following her inside.
"Hey guys" Gera calls from the couch.
"Gera where were you?" I sat beside her. Her eyes were red. she was probably nursing an hangover.
"I came home. I was drunk and I had vomited in one of the pools" she chuckles.
"Oh my!" I covered my mouth.
"Don't worry everyone around were too wasted to know what happened" she grins.
"Lucky you I'm going to get something for my headache" Sarah excuses herself.
"I need a shower" I also left. Once in my room I took out my phone to reply to the text.
"Sure state the time and place😘😘". I placed my phone down on my vanity table along with my purse. Taking off my clothes I dumped them into my laundry basket on my way to the bathroom. I smiled as I looked down. I was so glad I was always waxed. After the shower my stomach grumbles so I slipped on a casual house attire before grabbing my phone and heading downstairs. Eli hadn't seen my text or replied to it yet. I met Geraldine in the kitchen.
"Need help?" I joined her. Sarah came down too and we all had a late breakfast together.
"So Lizzy you want to tell us about the guy you slept with?"
"No. Do you want to tell us about yours?"
"Touche" she scoffs.
"I thought so" I giggled just then my phone goes off. I left the table going to my room to take the call.
"Hey".
"Hey I thought you didn't want to hang since you didn't reply" he says.
"Sorry I was occupied" I smirked.
"Okay so does 3 work for you?" I looked up at my clock. It was a few minutes to one.
"Yes it works perfectly".
"Okay should I pick you up?"
"No just send me the address and we will meet there".
"Sure". I hanged up. I was going to take this very slowly. I learnt alot of lessons from my relationship with William and I'm not even sure I want something serious with Eli. I head back to meet the girls before they start questioning my disappearance.
Right now I was driving to meet Eli. He chose a restaurant I had never being to before. He also told me to dress casually so I didn't really know what he had planned. I wore my white jeans short and a pink sweater.
I drove into the shady parts of town. People hawking, different stalls and they all stared at my car. Good thing the windows were tinted. My GPS blinks in front of a small building so I took it as the place finding somewhere to park. Climbing down I held my purse tight before rushing into the building. The aroma of junk food hits me. I frowned looking around the small cozy restaurant. I have nothing against junk food but I tried my best to avoid them.
Eli waved me from the back so I walked towards him. I wiped down on the chair before sitting on it across him.
"Hi" I smiled placing my purse on the wooden table in front of us.
"Hey you look lovely" he smirks. Rolling my eyes I asked what we were doing here.
"You don't like junk food?"
"I do but I made sure not to make eating it an habit" I gestured to my body and he nods in understanding.
"Okay but we are eating junk today, wait for me". He leaves the table and I watched him walk up to the counter. We were the only ones here. The restaurant had ten tables scattered around. Then there was a door behind the counter that I'm pretty sure led to the kitchen. A girl was handling the counter and she had a permanent grin on her face while talking to Eli. He returns shortly after.
"I have given them our order".
"Okay". It was silent for a few seconds before I spoke up.
"How did you find this place?"
"I didn't. My bro just gave me the location when I told him I wanted a casual setting for a date".
"Date huh?" I smirked and he chuckled.
"Yeah this is a date".
"Okay. I'll have to taste the food first to decide if this date is on point" I joked. He chuckles again.
"So tell me your name?"
"Jesus" I laughed. "You don't really know my name. This is crazy".
"Yeah so what's it?"
"Elizabeth Annabelle Morgan so tell me your full name?"
"Eli Raymond Davis".
"Raymond?" I laughed.
"Hey don't mock my middle name" he jokes.
"You can call me Lizzy" I smiled.
"Lizzy. What a beautiful name for a....".
"Don't say it. I didn't peg you as the cheesy type" I laughed.
"Isn't that what girls want" he leans back.
"I like someone real" I said seriously.
"Okay point taken ma'am" he chuckles lightening the atmosphere. Just then the girl from the counter comes with what Eli ordered. Two burgers, two boxes of hot fries and two strawberry sundae. She placed one each in front of us.
"Enjoy" she smiles taking her train back to the counter.
"I heard the burgers are really good".
"Okay". I covered my lap first just incase before taking a bite. "Umm ummm" I moaned and he smiles before eating his also. After chewing and washing it down with a sip I smiled. "It's really good".
"Yeah I'll make sure to visit here often" he agrees. I ate my fries and burger waiting.
"Okay look. What are we? Or rather what are we aiming for? A relationship or friendship" I asked.
"Why don't we just see how it goes. It's just our first date" he laughs.
"Yeah you're right" I smiled sipping the remainder of my drink. So much for taking things slow. It was awkward for a few minutes, no one knowing what to say.
"You have an American accent are you from there?"
"Yes I'm a New York babe" I giggled.
"Well I'm a home boy".
"Really! Your accent so didn't give you away" I teased.
"Yeah I've also heard girls die for this accent" he winks. Like that we got our shit together and chose to go with the flow.
