Light taps turned aggressive had me jumping out of my sleep state into the real world. So startled all I could do was stare at Gera as she opened the curtains to let the sun rays in. "Well! Don't just sit there you have to get ready it's almost seven" she scoffs, "why should I care of the time?" I finally found my voice. She gave me the seriously look, "it's your first day at work. Is coming late the expression you're trying to leave?" "Shit!" I jumped out of bed falling to the ground as my leg got tangled in my sheets. "Ouch!" I rubbed my elbow which took the fall, "breakfast is ready go get ready" she points out before leaving. With a tired sigh I stood up making my bed immediately before stripping and walking to my bathroom. Atleast this means the pills work because I feel truly energized and ready to conquer, okay too cheesy. Slipping on my black underwear set I stared in worry at my closet. I should have prepared the attire for today before hand. One quick glance at the clock had me putting on my grey suit pants and white blouse. My white high heels sandals matched it all. Light makeup and a high ponytail later I swung my handbag over my shoulders heading downstairs.
"You look like a runway model" Sarah greets with a cup of coffee in hand and still in her pajamas lucky her. "It's the first day I need to look good" I explained dishing some pancakes into my plate. "That shoe costs more than the building you'll be working in isn't it too excessive?" Gera frowned. "I won't stop looking good to make people feel better Geraldine" I rolled my eyes gulping my glass of juice down. "I have to head to work. Good luck with the teaching stuff" I pecked her cheeks and she returned the gesture and I do the same with Sarah. "Bye!" I called out before slamming the door behind me. Unlocking my car I get a move on hopefully they won't be traffic. God like always answered his loyal servant and I got to work with twenty minutes to spare. Unlike last time I didn't while away the time in my car but headed straight into the building.
"Good morning" I greet the receptionist, "wow! You look amazing" she stares me down in awe. "Thanks it was a last minute dress up" I chuckled and she tills her head confused but I don't explain just head to the elevator. Before it shuts two workers joined me, "good morning you look nice" the lady says first. "Thanks I'm glad I'm Elizabeth but call me Lizzy" I stretched my hand out. "Sofia and this mute idiot is my cousin Celestine" she smiles. Celestine rolls his eyes but takes my hand for a shake, "you're new right?" his voice was really deep it startled me for a second. "Yes yes" I cleared my throat, "today's my first day" I smiled, "well good luck" they dispatch. I walked alone to my cube which was at the ending of the hall across the bosses office.
My neighbor was a man who didn't even look up or reply to my greeting. Wiping the wooden stool I could picture myself having cramps from sitting in such a chair. Looking at my neighbors desk through the half makeshift wall I groaned internally. I had to get my boss coffee placing my bag on my desk I head to the coffee maker. The people using it before me didn't even spare me a glance, rude much. Ignoring them I made my boss a cup. I might not have given William coffees but I learnt more than anything what it meant to be a superb PA and I plan to put it to use. The boss wasn't there yet so I just placed the coffee down heading to my cube. No employee ever first William to work. It was 8 and the owner of the company hasn't arrived, how does he expect Mendes enterprise to grow? Atleast from what I see his workers are hardworking and diligent.
"Stop daydreaming and get to work?!" "Excuse me!" I gasped staring at my neighbor in shock. I finally saw his face, brown straight hair and blue eyes with a fixed frown. "It's your first day and you're already slacking," "we just met and you're already a dick!" I shot back. His eyes widens probably not expecting that then he scoffs looking back down at his laptop. I definitely rendered him speechless.
"Ms Morgan" Mr Mendes waved before entering the office and I looked down at my wrist. It was after nine how inappropriate for the boss. "I hope you're not sleeping with the boss" my dear neighbor accused maybe the boss smiling and waving was new. "No but I think he wants me to set a meeting with my father" I struggled and he looks at me. "I knew you were a rich brat," "what gave me away?" I ask not taking offense. "Your whole attire screams money and that diamond earrings I know it's not fake". "No it's not it was a Christmas gift from my aunt" I touched the love shaped earrings. "So who's your father?" "Someone's feeling chatty" I laughed, "Dr Morgan" I added. The look of surprise didn't faze me, you get use to it at some point. "That badass lawyer from America? Why are you here?" "I'm here for school but I don't start till June". "Why are you working is what I meant" "I don't know to while away time maybe" I shrugged looking at my laptop to end the conversation he takes the hint and says no more.
Mr Mendes had a ten o'clock meeting so I go to inform him and that's how my day was spent. At five I packed the important files that needed reviewing and got ready to leave. "Hey I'm sorry about my attitude earlier" my neighbor, still don't know his name says. "It's okay," "no it's not let me buy you a drink or something," that was fast but the secretive glances gave him away men! "How old are you?" "What!" I stay silent waiting, "I'm 26 why?" "Too old for me but thanks for the offer" I left him baffled. I don't need my parents trying to ship me off to another country I learnt my lesson the first time.
Once I got home I unbuttoned my blouse as I head inside. "Jesus!" I covered my chest shocked. Stuart and his twin along with my cousins stare wide eyes at my open blouse. "What the fuck!" I grumbled turning my back to them and buttoning up. "Why are you guys here?" "I don't think we've met" Shawn smirks standing up and walking towards me. "We've not I'm Lizzy Morgan and I own this house who are you?" I spit out furious for the lack of privacy. "Oh! You're the rich cousin" he nods like he just solved a crime. "I am and I'm going to get changed" I left them heading to my bedroom.
