I curled my last hair strand before spraying the holding glue. Finally I began doing my makeup. I wanted to look perfect.
Eli was graduating today and I'm also meeting his parents for the first time. We have being official for two years now and everything has being bliss. I was going to be a junior this semester.
"Lizzy" Sarah walks into my room. "Wow" she gasps staring at my white dress. "Are you getting married?" I rolled my eyes but smiled at my reflection in the mirror. "The guys are here".
"Okay I'll be down in a minute" I reapplied my lipstick. I grabbed my purse before leaving the room.
"Hey guys" I hugged both guys before slipping into the car. Sarah and Gera finally found their match.
"Emma is meeting us at the venue" I called out after reading the text.
"Okay. I'm surprised she's even coming at all" Gera frowns. Emma just went through a harsh breakup and is hiding out in her parents house. She lives with us but she needed her mother's love after catching her one year boyfriend in bed with a friend.
Frederick parks the car in front of the school building.
"Let's go I don't want to miss any part" I sighed climbing down. The campus was bustling with people. Family members and friends of the graduating students. My baby was finally graduating and I was so happy for him.
We took a seat in the middle row and I could already see the graduating students on the podium. I glanced around if I could see any couple that atleast looked like Eli's parents.
"Lizzy it's starting" Gera taps my knee and I looked forward. Eli was called and we all stood up screaming as he took his diploma and waved at us. We had to wait for every other student to take their diploma before they let them of the stage.
"Let's go" I pulled my friends to were I saw Eli. Before I could reach him a slim model like lady hugs him.
"Oh Eli we can plan our engagement party now!" she squeaks.
"Engagement?" Sarah says and the couple noticed us, Eli paled.
"Oh boo are this your friends" she smiles. "Hi I'm Christine Eli's fiance" she smiles stretching her hand. Gera took it for us.
"I'm Geraldine this are my friends and boyfriend" she gestures to Tyler who was holding her waist.
"Lizzy can we talk in private?"
"Sure" I smiled. I had being with Eli for two years now. We were strong enough not to believe rumours. He led me out of the hall.
"You look lovely".
"Thanks" I blushed. He sighs making me look up.
"Lizzy..." he strails off worrying me.
"Babe I don't believe her it's okay" I took his hand in mine. He pulled away not meeting my gaze.
"Eli?" I asked confused.
"Christine is my arranged bride I'm sorry".
"What!"
"I'm sorry Lizzy. I love you but my parents want me to marry her and I can't go against them".
"Or you'll lose your trust funds?" I asked calmly.
"Yes yes I will" he breathes out probably thinking I understood.
"You bastard!" I slapped him shoving him away before walking back into the hall.
"Eli was my boyfriend" I told Christine before grabbing Gera and walking off. The others knew to follow. We passed Eli on our way out.
"You fucking pig!" Sarah spits on him. Once in the car I let the tears fall.
"Oh babe" Gera hugs me.
"The guy is a fool Lizzy" Tyler says.
"I'm I not destined to be happy?" I cried.
"Lizzy don't say that" Sarah calls from the front seat with Frederick. I huffed looking out the window tears streamed down my face. Eli chose money over me. Two years of my life just goes down the drain like that.
When the car parked I jumped down running inside. I unlocked the door in haste but I was too late. Sarah wraps her hand around me leading me to the couch and I cried into her chest.
"It's okay it's going to be okay" she whispers into my hair some strands stuck to my teary face.
"I must look like a mess" I choked out and she chuckles.
"That doesn't matter". It seemed someone called Emma because they gave room for her to hug me.
"How did you do it Emma?" I cried.
"I haven't Lizzy" she cries too. "But we have our friends with us to support and comfort us". I nodded not believing to ever recover from this. At almost 22 years old I had faced way too many heart breaks I was calling quits on relationships. I laughed with them to hide the hole in my heart.
"I'm tired" I faked a yawn before leaving to my room. Shutting the door I slipped down to the ground with my back against the door. I hugged my knees leaning my head behind me. I cried myself to sleep in that position.
For days I didn't shower or leave my bed. My room looked like a pig pen but I didn't care. Sarah and Gera gave up on talking. Emma went back to her parents, lucky bitch. I video called my mom but that could only do so much.
Day fifteen and even I couldn't take it anymore. I took a much needed shower and shaved. I cleaned up my room taking the trash downstairs. Dressing up I parked my books for class. The girls were shocked to see me in campus.
"Lizzy you're here?"
"Yes. I just finished my last class" I shrugged holding my handbag tighter.
"Really?" Sarah crossed her arms.
"Yeah. Sooo what's up?"
"Lizzy....." Gera sighs.
"What! I'm totally over the whole break up thing" I laughed.
"Are you sure?"
"Totally and I'm feeling pizza you down?"
"Sure" they rolled her eyes but we walked together to the parking lot.
"Babe" Tyler pops up from nowhere kissing Gera. I didn't think Gera was into PDA guess I was wrong. I had to look away because I was messed up. More messed up than anyone could be because I felt like crying for William instead of Eli.
"Oh! Lizzy wow you look great" Tyler rambles awkwardly.
"It's okay to love your girlfriend I would kick your ass if you didn't" I warned him and he breathes out relief before pulling me into a bear hug.
"Put me down jackass" I laughed secretly loving the attention.
"No can't do chica" he spins me around. I giggled as he puts me down.
"Asshole" I hit his shoulders trying to regain control of my body.
"I'm starving let's go" Gera linked her arms with his.
"Ummm you guys are going to have to go without me" Sarah smirks looking at her phone.
"Frederick texting?" I threw her a knowing smile.
"Yeah his parents came to visit and he wants me to meet them!" she squeaks.
"Oh girlfriend" I hugged her. "That's awesome now get your fat ass out of here" I hit it for emphasis.
"Bitch" she glares but hugs me before jogging to her car.
"That means I'm third wheeling" I teased.
"We are going as friends" Tyler threw both his arms on our shoulders. Tyler and I clicked and I hated to sound like an hypocrite but even more than he did with his girlfriend.
