"Elizabeth can I have a minute?"

"Sure." I swung my bag over my shoulders walking down the corridor to meet my professor.

"Elizabeth you're the best student in this class and I need a favour" she smiles pushing her glasses up.

"What?" I was not in the mood for this today or any other day for that matter. She stood taller at the sound of my voice.

"I need you to tutor someone."

"No thanks" I made to leave.

"You'll be paid."

"Money is not my problem" I walked away. The clicks from her heels followed me.

"Please Elizabeth this child is failing and she's under scholarship."

"Well she should be intelligent then" I stopped to glance at her.

"She is or was but she's going through some family issues and she's losing focus."

"Not interested" I drew out.

"20 percent from your finals."

"Why are you so invested in this student anyway?" She sighs.

"She's my niece and I just want the best for her."

"Okay fine" I whined.

"Thank you Lizzy" she grins.

"Lizzy is for my friends only" I warned before walking away. Did you really have to be so rude? Subconscious asks, sometimes I think my mouth has a mind of it's own I groaned to my subconscious, I'm definitely losing it.

"What took so long?"

"Teacher problems. Were are we going?" I asked slipping into the jeep. Gera drove us to school today.

"Really Lizzy?"

"What?"

"Today is the dress fitting as bridesmaid for your cousins wedding" Sarah scoffs. My eyes widens before I groaned.

"Screw me! How could I forget?"

"Don't beat yourself up Lizzy we all did until we got the text" Gera pacifies.

"Which text?"

"Okay Lizzy were have you being? Did you check your phone at all yesterday" Sarah frowns from beside me she was not as understanding as Gera that's for sure. No I just realized I'm a born bitch.

"I couldn't my phone was dead" I lied giving her a sheepish grin. "Emma why are you here?" I quickly changed the subject. Gloria didn't know her that well so she's not among the bridesmaids.

"Oh Gera is dropping me off at a restaurant I'm meeting Ivan and his little sister there" she shrugs.

"Okay." I met Gera's eye in the rear mirror and she raised a brow at me. I'm guessing she can tell I've not being myself since yesterday. We dropped Emma off then all hell broke loose, literally.

"Okay Lizzy what's wrong with you?" Sarah turns to me completely.

"Nothing just tired."

"We can see through your lies Lizzy, Emma is the only one who can't" Gera says.

"Yeah and you're acting so weird, you only forget things when you're too caught up thinking about yourself."

"I'm I not always" I scoffed.

"No you're not. Yes you love yourself but you have enough love to go around and you do share."

"Okay who are you and what have you done with Sarah" I laughed.

"Hey don't be a bitch I'm sentimental" she scoffs rolling her eyes.

"Frederick is changing her" Gera supplies a more reasonable explanation. We joked about it the rest of the way but I didn't forget her earlier words. They don't think I don't care. Where they just such loyal friends or was it true? I'm I really not a bad person. Oh God I sound or rather think pathetic.

"Oh the bride to be" I joked hugging Gloria.

"You guys are late but oh well" she smiles hugging me back.

"I can't believe you're getting married a month from now it feels so unreal" Sarah adds.

"I can't believe it either!" Gloria squeaks.

"So where are our dresses?"

"Right here" the sales attendant makes her presence known. I looked at the purple dresses arranged together in awe.

"It's beautiful."

"And they have your size" Gloria nudges me.

"Have you picked your wedding dress?" I asked her watching from the corner of my eyes as Sarah and Gera grabbed one of the dresses to try on.

"No mom is flying over next week I want to wait for her" she sighs.

"Come!" I took her hands leading her outside.

"What's wrong Gloria?"

"What do you mean?" She avoided my gaze looking down at her heels. She had to come here from work. I stayed silent waiting for her to crack.

"Peter cheated on me" she sobs.

"What?!" I took a couple steps back in shock. I was not expecting that. She looks up crying.

"How do you know this?" I pushed my shock aside for the meantime, wrapping her in my arms.

"I caught them Lizzy I just don't know how" she sobs. A few people stared at us weirdly.

"Let's go somewhere more private."

"No! We have to make sure the dresses fit" she pulls away smiling.

"Gloria!" I called out.

"No Lizzy I know what you're going to say he loves me, he just had a slip we all do" she smiles. Denial was written all over her but can I blame her? She's being with that fucker Peter for too long for this to happen. Gladys never really liked that guy and now I don't.

"Okay let's go in" I smiled and she sighs relieved before pulling the door open door. I wasn't dropping the issue I was going to see Peter myself. If it was an honest mistake I'll let it go but if his really cheated he would wish he never met me, I swear. Grabbing my dress I tried it on, the bust being too big was the first mistake then it was too long it felt like a wedding dress. I told the lady this and she took my measurements to make the alterations. I was informed to check it out next Tuesday.

"I have to get home I'm exhausted" Gloria hugs us before leaving.

"We have a problem" I said once we were seated in the car.

"What?" I looked at both of them before repeating what Gloria told me.

"What! That bastard how dare he do that to her!" Sarah yells.

"What if his having cold feet's about the wedding?" Gera asked instead.

"That's the problem we can't keep guessing the wedding is in one month."

"What do you think we should do?"

"We are paying that bastard a visit" I smirked. They both smirked too making me smile. They always had my back, blood doesn't make family loyalty does.
