CHAPTER 34 - PROTECTING MYSELF

"I did some research on those five policemen."

I was too lazy to look at the white folder that Eira placed on the table. After three days, she went here..that fast, just to give those documents on me.

"What did you find out?" I asked her. I know, my voice is sleepy.

We are here on my mini sofa and she is in front of me. I really tried my best not to lie down on this couch and sleep.

I couldn't sleep last night because I wasn't sleepy dahil I drank caffeine before I went to my unit so I stayed up all night.

Kaya parang gusto ko na lang humiga at matulog buong araw.

Hindi ko naman kasi ineexpect na pupunta siya dito, edi sana kapag alam ko ay nag-prepared ako...

Ah, right. She doesn't have my number to inform me. Nagpalit na kasi ako ng sim card.

"I find that..." I couldn't hear her clearly. I feel like, I'm going to fall suddenly."...Then.. Are you listening to what I'm saying, Arallonzhu?"

Kaagad na napaayos upo ako nang marinig ang seryosong tinig non.

Alam ko na babagsak na ako kanina kaya agad na nagising ako pero mas lalong nagising ako dahil sa boses niya.

Para kaming na sa room at nahuli ako ako ng terror prof ko na natutulog sa class niya.

"Right..sorry." I focused my full attention on her.

She was leaning on the backrest with her arms crossed. "Didn't you sleep last night?"

She knows.

"Yes..." I scratched my head."I didn't know you were coming here today. I'm not ready."

"So, you'll sleep all day if I don't come here?" she asked, still frowning.

Hindi ko mapigilang magtaka. Ano ba ang pinupunto niya? She was like a mom right now na sinesermonan 'yung daughter niya.

Atsaka, ano naman sa kaniya? 

"Don't talk if this is not about the case we're handling." napabuntong hininga ako. Dapat talaga ay tinatlo ko na 'yung kape kanina."We can continue now."

She looked away and sighed as if she was offended. She turned her gaze to me again but this time, she's serious na.

"Okay, but I hope you don't fall asleep while I'm talking."

"Of course." I will try.

She sighed again."So, I was already done talking about mr-"

"Wait.." I quickly stopped her. She raised an eyebrow at me."Can.... Can you say it again? "

"What?" she asked, nagtataka."Say what?"

Damn, iinom na talaga ako ng maraming kape tuwing umaga!

Tinignan ko siya ng ilang minuto, thinking if I should say it or not.

Mukhang isang pagkakamali lang kasi ay baka itapon na niya ako sa bintana.

"You're wasting our time, Miss Fiscal." she annoyingly said and her face scream it all.

I bit my lower lip."I didn't hear clearly when you're talking about mister..a-about that police."

"Or, you were just sleeping." she sarcastically said.

Hindi na ako umangal kasi totoo naman.

"I'm sorry."I apologize.
