CHAPTER 44 - I LOVE YOU

"She canceled their wedding."

I told to Zoe. I went here in her office because I want to talk with her for something tapos nasama ko na rin 'yan.

Hindi ko rin alam kung bakit.

She raised her eyebrows while still reading the documents.

"Really? Then you two are together now?"

She doesn't seem to care.

"Not yet.." I answered while scratching my head.

Eira and I haven't talked yet. As long as we treat each other like girlfriends. Wala pa rin kaming label.

"What? Why? You said that she canceled their wedding so, I assume they already broke up so, okay na." she's looking at me now, nakasimangot pa!

"Is that still necessary?" I let out a chuckle when she rolled her eyes on me."Eira and I haven't discussed that yet.."

"So you two are just flirting?" she asked in disbelief. "Oh wait, has she ever told you that she loves you?"

I bit my bottom lip as I remembered..."Not yet."

I just realized that I never once heard from her that she loves me. Right, she said that she fell in love with me but that was before! Fell, means past tense. It was then at hindi ngayon.

Kaya paano kung..

"Hindi ka na mahal."She replied in monotone."Baka lang-"

"Yah! M-Maybe...maybe she doesn't know how to say that kaya pinaparamdam na lang niya."Kumpyansang saad ko.

Kahit kasi hindi niya sabihin ay I can feel that... how much she cares and worries about me.

Atsaka hindi siya 'yung tipo ng tao na nakikipagharutan lang.Mas prefer niya talaga 'yung serious relationship kaysa sa landi.

"What if, you're just assuming? Mahilig kapa naman mag-assume."

"Hey! Hindi, ah! I'm not like that!" I shook my head in disapproval. "Besides, she wouldn't have canceled the wedding if she didn't love me-"

"She canceled it because she didn't love Leonardo." she glanced at me."That's why it's better to hear those words from her to avoid misunderstanding."

I went silent because of what she said. Doon lang ako natauhan na baka nga ganoon lang 'yung rason niya? Hindi talaga ako kasama roon..maybe, she just doesn't love Leonardo and not because she loves me.

I slapped my forehead while shaking my head. Damn, why didn't we talk about our relationship!? If we had talked about it, wala na sana ako problema ngayon!

"You should ask her about that. So you can have a label." she suggested while reading again.

Mabuti pa si Zoe na puro cases lang 'yung pinoproblema.

Nag isip pa ako ng ilang minuto kung ano 'yung gagawin bago mapabuntong hininga at magpaalam kay Zoe na mauuna na.Tumango lang siya, mukhang gusto niya ring umalis na ako e! 

I quickly went to Eira's work place. I don't have any scheduled meetings or trials today so, I can go out... I laughed at the thought of coming para lang tanongin kung ano kami.

I even said hello to the lawyers I met. Even if we're enemies in the courtroom, that doesn't mean we're enemies in real life.

It's a good feeling when your opponent on the court is your friend.

"Come in!" I heard Eira scream when I knocked on her door.

I fixed myself first before opening the door at pumasok. I smiled when I saw that her full attention was on her laptop. I locked the door before walking towards her.
