CHAPTER 43 - MISTRESS?

"I'm sorry for being selfish, Fabiana."

We were both silent for a while. Nakatulala lang ako sa kaniya habang pinupunasan niya ang mga luha.

I didn't know she was going through something. The truth is, I was the one who became selfish because I only thought about myself.

"So..he did that to you?" I pointed to her wound on the side of her lip.

I know, he's Eira's father pero nakakawalang gana siyang respetohin. I understand what he went through but kailangan pa bang idamay ang anak dahil sa sariling issue? At lalong lalo na kailangan saktan? What kind of father is he?

She smiled bitterly before nodding." I didn't expect that he could hurt me because I fell in love.."

My face turned red when I remembered that she also fell in love with me. I still can't believe it because she's good at hiding her true feelings.

Aakalain mo talagang wala siyang pakialam pero sa loob-loob... Grabe.

She can do anything for the person she loves.

"How did your family react when they found out you failed?" she asked when she noticed my silence.

I closed my eyes to remember their reaction at that time.

"They were disappointed with me at first but they tried to understand my situation."  when I opened my eyes, her beautiful face opened up to me." Until everything was fine. They even helped me so, I-I...topped the bar."

Her eyes widened as her mouth parted in shock."W-What.."

"Your father didn't tell you that? He didn't have enough information." I joked while smiling.

Halata namang 'yung father niya' yung nagsabi sa kaniya ng lahat. He was the only one with Eira earlier before she went here to my office.

"Omygod, I didn't know.."She started crying again so I was immediately alarmed."..you d-did well...I'm so proud of you, Fabiana. .."

I gave her a genuine smile. Even though she wasn't there when I topped the bar but, hearing those words from her was enough to make me feel happy and satisfied.

"Do you know who sent the pictures to your father?" I asked, breaking the silence.

We were still sitting on the floor and she seemed calmer now than before.

"No. I forgot about that." she sighed. "What I was thinking about at that time was you.. if what I should do para hindi ka galawin ni, Dad."

"Parang stalker ko pala siya. "

We both laughed because of that.

"He was." she answered with a smile.

I stood up and extended my hand to her. I helped her stand when she took my hand. She looked really tired. Her eyes were swollen and the make-up was all over her face.

But still pretty.

"Do you want to come into my unit?" I asked while staring at her face. "We have to treat your wound."

"Okay.." she gave me a tired smile.

We went to the parking lot where my car was parked because she said, nag-commute lang siya papunta rito.

It was only six o'clock in the evening, so there were many employees. I can leave the office any time I want.

We went to my unit in silence. Nakatulog kasi siya sa byahe kaya kinailangan ko pang gisingin kasi hindi ko kayang buhatin siya.

Baka mabagsak ko lang.

"Stay here. I'll just get my medicine kit." I motioned her to sit on the couch.
