The group arrived on top of a taller hill. Jane could sense Malekith, the Aether could feel the Dark Elf. Shadow stood by Loki's side, her thoughts running wild. Loki stared below, glaring at the monster who took such a precious life. Thor held on to Jane, making sure she was steady. Thor looked at the opposing enemy then back at his team.
"All right...Are you ready?"
"I am." Thor looked to his brother, knowing that his answer was coming from a place of anger. Thor and Loki stood closer to the edge of the cliff, making themselves revealed to Malekith. Shadow stood closer to Jane, tense and silent. "You know, this plan of yours is going to get us killed."
"Yes...possibly."
Loki raised his cuffed hands to Thor, "You still don't trust me brother?"
Thor snorted, "Would you?"
Thor reached for the cuffs, allowing Loki's wrists to be free. Jane watched skeptically, not understanding what Thor was trying to do. Loki sighed and glowered down at the Elves.
"No I wouldn't." Loki plunged his dagger into Thor's stomach, causing his brother to hunch over in pain. Shadow winced at the action. Loki threw Thor over the hill, sending him rolling down to the bottom. Jane gasped and cried out for him.
Loki jumped after his brother, Jane not far behind him. Shadow ran behind Jane, trying to catch up with the distraught girl. Thor finally stopped rolling and Loki continued on with his agenda.
"You really think I cared about Frigga? About any of you?" Loki voice was like venom, yet Shadow was the only one who could hear the lie rolling off the gods tongue. Loki kicked Thor closer to Malekith. Shadow was right on Jane's tail. "All I ever wanted, was you and Odin dead at my feet."
Thor reached towards his hammer, only to have his hand cut off by Loki's blade. Thor cried out, pain in his voice. Jane finally caught up to Thor. He was holding his limb in pain. Loki reached out and grabbed Jane pulling her off of him. Shadow tackled the pair, aiming her swings towards Loki.
"What are you doing?! We are supposed to protect her Loki!" Shadow screeched as she punched Loki and tried to keep him down. She fought to keep her magic at bay, keeping her glowing eyes hidden. Jane landed only a few feet from them, not understanding what was going on.
"I am getting what I finally deserve." Loki thrust his dagger into Shadows side, causing Shadow to freeze up. She slumped over to her back, falling off of Loki. He roughly pushed her the rest of the way to the ground. He picked himself up and grabbed Jane. Shadow coughed up blood, holding her side where the dagger still sat.
"How....could...you." Her wearying voice was barely a whisper. Loki stared down at her, his face cold as ice.
Shadow's eyes fluttered shut as the life drained from her body. She lay still, Thor crying for his friend that Loki had just killed. Jane struggled in Loki's grasp as he brought her closer to the still onlooking man.
"Malekith! I am Loki of Jotunheim, and I bring you a gift." He threw Jane onto her knees, right at Malekith's feet.
The Kursed and several other elves stood watching. Jane looked up in fear, seeing the burnt and charred face of the man who was trying to kill her.
"I ask only one thing in return... A good seat in which to watch Asgard burn."
The Kursed started speaking in elvish tongue to his leader. Loki was the only one who could understand the translation.
Kursed: He is an enemy of Asgard. He was a prisoner in their dungeons.
Malekith started walking towards Thor. Jane was breathing rapidly, trembling in utter fear of her own death and fear of what was to happen of her soulmate. Malekith eyed the still body of the unknown woman who Loki had killed. He turned his attention back to Thor and stood over him.
