Katana's POV

"So did you all meet at the Burke Mountain Academy?" I ask as Mikaela's friends, my pups, and I sit down in our seats here in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

Mikaela's racing in a Super-G race today and myself and Mikaela's friends are watching.

"Yeah." Nova says.

"We were the only girls in our class so we stuck together." Sierra says.

Burke Mountain Academy is where Mikaela and her friends went to high school.

Burke Mountain Academy is basically an academy for alpine skiing prodigies.

"Ah." I say.

"Have they figured out what happened to Skye?" Isabel asks.

"She has the flu so she's gonna take this race and the next one off so she can get better for the races that begin in January." I say.

"Aww." Imogen says. "I hope she feels better."

"Me too." I say as my dogs lay at my feet.

"Which Bib is Mikaela?" Indigo asks.

"19." I say. "So we have a bit."

"Cool." Indigo says then she, Sierra, and Isabel stand up. "We'll go get the hot chocolates."

Myself, Madeline, Nova, Inês, and Imogen nod then the three ladies go off to get the hot drinks.

"I've never asked Mikaela this, but what changed with Lylah?" I ask. "Mikaela made her seem really cool."

"Lylah's parents passed away her freshman year of college." Inês says.

"Lylah went from a shy quiet girl to a party girl who treats us like shit." Nova says.

"Honestly I think she's trying to live life on the edge so she can die." Madeline says.

"Well I've felt that way too so I can't fault her for that." I say.

"Does it ever get better?" Imogen asks.

"I don't know." I admit as I see Indigo, Sierra, and Isabel coming back up the stairs. "I'll let you know if it does."

"Here you go." Sierra says as she hands me my hot chocolate.

"Thanks." I say then Indigo, Sierra, and Isabel sit down.

"Is Mikaela helping you?" Madeline asks.

"What's going on?" Isabel asks then Madeline, Nova, Inês, and Imogen catch up the ladies who went for hot chocolate about the conversation we're having.

"I'm only alive because of Mikaela." I admit. "And because of my puppies."

"Does Mikaela know that?" Indigo asks.

"She does." I say with a smile as my girlfriend appears on the tv screen at the finishing line.

"Good." Inês says. "You can marry her now."

All of Mikaela's friends nod causing me to chuckle at their protectiveness for my girlfriend then I watch the tv screen as my girlfriend begins her run.

Mikaela's friends and I watch my skier's run until she physically appears in front of us on the mountain then we watch her finish her race.

"Ooh that was good." I say when I see Mikaela finished with a time of 57.18 seconds.

"Very good." Nova says as I stand up.

"Come on pups." I say. "Let's go see Mommy."

Appa and Socks woof then we walk from our seats down to the barrier where Mikaela is waiting.
