Mikaela's POV

"I guess I'll see you after the game." Katana says as we chat in the tunnels underneath Jónsdóttir Stadium in San Diego before the final of the Challenge Cup.

Katana's team beat Barcelona in the Quarter-Finals and a team from France called Lyon in the Semi-Finals so now they're playing Inter New York to see who wins.

Inter New York beat PSG in the Round of 16, a team named Chelsea in the Quarter-Finals, and a team named Wolfsburg in the Semi-Finals.

"You will." I say as I wrap my arms around my keepers neck then I play with her long luscious locs. "And no matter what happens I'll still be in your arms tonight and you'll still be getting all the kisses you want."

A little while ago, we figured out that Katana can sleep just as good when she's holding me as she does when I'm holding her so we just play it by ear every night, but one of us always ends up going to sleep in the others arms.

"Yay." Katana cheers then I pull my keeper down and kiss her.

"Have fun Katana." I say. "And stay safe."

"I will Mikaela." My girlfriend says then she kisses me.

After I kiss my keeper, I hug her then we split up and I head back up to the box I'm sitting in.

When I get back to the box, I get some food and a drink then I join the people I've been siting with for the past couple hours out in our seats in the owners box.

I'm sitting with Christen, Sahara, Aurora, Talia, Leah, Axel, Lanie, Emma, Emma's twins, Skye, Nova, Becky, Cairo, Cairo's wife Megan and their kids Katara, Azur, Isabella, Scarlett, Didier, and Benjamin.

Earlier we watched Manchester United beat the Washington Spirit in the Final of the Consolation Bracket.

Once I'm sat in my seat, which is between my girlfriend's sisters, I eat my food while the two teams warm up.

After I finish eating, I throw my trash away then I sit down and look to the field to find my girlfriend.

"Who's that?" I ask as I point to Katana who seems to be talking shit to some old dude.

"He's the coach of the Stanford women's team." Christen says as I drink some of my drink.

"Do he and Katana not get along?" I ask.

"Not at all." Tobin says.

"Why?" Talia asks.

"He pulled Katana from the 2017 National championship game then the back up gave up 2 quick goals when Katana hadn't given up a goal all season" Aurora says. "Thankfully the coach put Katana back in and she saved the game for them."

"She almost transferred because of that." Emma says.

"Really?" I ask.

"He also said some messed up shit when Oksana got pregnant so she was already pissed about that." Sahara says.

Oleksandr was born on August 25, 2017 so he was 4 years old when he was murdered.

"Why didn't she transfer?" Talia asks.

"She didn't wanna transfer when she was close to finishing her first degrees." Sahara says.

"Oh." I say. "Why is he here?"

"No clue." Multiple people say as the two teams leave the pitch.

"Oh." I hear Cairo says. "Mikaela thank you for the gift basket."

"Honestly that was all Katana's idea." I say. "But I'll pass along the sentiment."

"Awesome." Cairo says.
