A letter is never ill-timed; it never interrupts.
Instead it waits for us to find the opportune minute, the quiet moment to savor the message.

"KATANA." I hear Mikaela's friend Sierra say as I enter the hospital here in London.
My sisters found out about Mikaela being shot five minutes before I did so they left the stadium and got my jet ready then myself, Emma, Talia, Christen, Tobin, and Sam grabbed our stuff from the locker room, picked up Emma and Talia's respective kids, headed to the airport, got on the plane, and flew back to London.
"Where is she?" I ask.
"She's in surgery." Sierra says as she grabs my arm then she leads myself, my sisters, Emma, Talia, Christen, Tobin, Sam, Emma and Talia's respective kids, and the pups through the hospital to a waiting room. "They put us in here."
"So what happened?" I ask as I set my stuff down then I see people in suits standing in the room. "And who the fuck are the people in suits?"
"We're with MI6." One of the dudes in the suit says.
"MI6?" I question. "So someone not from Britain shot my wife?"
"It looks that way." One of the MI6 ladies says.
"Oh." I say then I look at Mikaela's friends and family. "How are the babies?"
"The doctors say their fine, but they'll probably need to do an emergency c-section." Mikaela's mom say.
"What happened?" I ask.
"Mikaela wanted to go for a walk while we were waiting for our dinner so we did." Mikaela's mom says. "Like 5 minutes into the walk we heard a bunch of pop sounds then Mikaela fell to the ground."
"Was Mikaela the only one shot?" I ask and everyone who was there nods.
So the person was targeting my wife specifically.
"Do you know where she was shot from?" I ask.
"No." One of the MI6 people say then a lady in a suit walks over to me.
"CCTV captured the shooter leaving this near your wife." The redhead lady says then she hands me a card.
"What has a head but never weeps, has a bed but never sleeps, can run but never walks, and has a bank but no money?" I read off the card then I flip it over
The moment I flip the card over, I realize exactly who did this so I make sure my facial expression doesnt give that fact away.
"Does it mean anything to you?" The redhead asks.
"No." I mumble. "Sorry."
"We'll figure it out." The lady says then I get a whiff of myself.
"How long will Mikaela be in surgery?" I ask.
"Couple more hours." Mikaela's mom says.
"So I have time to go shower?" I ask. "I smell and I don't think anyone what's to be in the same room with me when I smell like this."
"Yeah Katana." Mikaela's mom says with a soft smile. "You can go shower."

"Now that we're alone." I say once Emma, Talia, the pups, and I walk into my apartment. "I need you two's helps
"What's up?" Talia asks as I release my doggies into my apartment.
"I know who did this." I say as Emma releases Shadow.
"Come again?" Emma asks.
"The card made it obvious." I say.
"Who is it?" Talia asks.
"I use to own a house here in London and after the world cup I sold it to a Ukrainian refugee, but apparently he's a Russian sympathizer." I say.
"You got all that from the card?" Emma asks.
"He's name's on the card." I say as I hold up the card.
"You stole the card?" Talia asks.
"Oops." I say.
"What do you need?" My favorite striker asks.
"I need a gun, ammo, and stuff that will conceal my identity." I say.
"I'll go get you some guns." Talia says then she leaves my apartment.
"Do you have an all black outfit you can wear?" Emma asks.
"Yep." I say.
"Go put that on while I get some stuff from my home." Emma says.
I nod then I go to my room and take off my uswnt tracksuit and my jewelry.
Once I'm undressed, I change into black cargo pants, a black long sleeve shirt, black socks, black timberland boots, and a black hoodie.
"KATANA?" I hear Emma shout as I grab a black balaclava and black gloves then I head to the living room.
"Yeah?" I say as I walk back into the living room.
"We're back." Talia says as she holds up a bag.
"It looks like this'll be all you need to hide your identity." Emma says as she holds up a mask.

"But you just bought this." I say.
"They sent me two." Emma says.
"Oh." I say then I put on my balaclava so only my eyes are showing.
Once I have on my balaclava, I put my hood over my head so my locs are hidden beneath my clothes and balaclava then I put on my gloves.
"And now to complete your look." Emma says then she hands me the mask so I put it on.
"So?" I ask.
"No way in hell you'll be found out." Talia says.
"Sweet." I say then I grab Talia's phone, open it, and type in the notes. "If I'm not back in an hour send the calvary to this address."
"That's like a 10 minute walk away." Talia says.
"Mhmm." I say. "It's right by the river."
"Why'd he leave a clue?" Emma asks.
"No idea." I say as I open the gun bag and see what Talia brought for me.
"I'll do some hacking so you won't be tracked by any cameras." Emma says as I hand her my phone.
"Sweet." I say then I pet my doggies. "Mama will see you later."
My puppies whine then they go lay down so I grab the gun bag, leave my apartment, get in the elevator, and head down to the parking garage.
The elevator stops on the 30th floor then a couple get on the elevator.
"Nice costume." The dude says.
"Thanks." I say then I notice my voice is deeper as we descend down to the parking garage.
I guess Talia put a voice changer in the mask.
When we reach the lobby floor, the couple get off then the elevator heads down to the parking garage.
"Am I really about to go kill someone for shooting my wife?" I mumble as the elevator door opens to reveal the parking garage.
Finally
"Yeah." I say as I step off the elevator. "Yeah I am."
