The night before...
Adora
We were in the war room. I had just came back from talking to Light Hope.
"I don't think that we should tell Claire." Angella said.
"I second that." Castaspella agreed.
"I think she deserves to know, Your Majesty. I mean she has been through so much and to not tell might hurt her even more." I said.
"But telling her might mean we hurt her even more. Like you said she has been through so much." Angella replied.
It was silent for a really long time. Bow opened his mouth a couple of times but quickly closed them each time.
"I think it's Adora's decision." Glimmer finally spoke up. Angella opened her mouth to speak but was cut off. "Adora has known Claire the longest. She knows what's going to set her off. If she thinks we should tell her than we will. If not then we keep our mouths shut. But Adora I think you need to realize that a war is coming. I don't think we need Claire worrying about that. I think we all need to be prepared for what is about to come and not the past."
I sat there. All eyes were on me. I took a deep breath. "Well I think I reached a decision."
After the discussion in the war room.
Claire
I was in my room trying to fall asleep. I tossed and turned, I changed mattresses, I switched out pillows, but nothing I did made me fall asleep.
I suddenly got a knock on my door. I didn't answer. I don't know why I didn't but I just laid there feeling numb.
I heard the door creak open. "Claire." I knew that voice immediately. "Claire. Hey are you okay. Glimmer feels bad about what she said earlier. We were all just upset about what was going on." The person walked over to me. "Hey are you okay."
"I'm fine." I answered. I was on my side so I couldn't fully see the person.
Thankfully the person didn't push on. "Hey we're going to crimson waste. I wanted to know if you wanted to join us." She didn't explain why. I assumed Shadow Weaver told her something after I left or that she wanted to follow the message sent from Mara.
"I'll go with you anywhere Adora. I can't have my best friend die in the middle of the crimson waste." I couldn't see her but I knew she had a big smile on her face.
I heard the door shut behind me a couple seconds later. Even thought everything seemed fine, the whole conversation it seemed like she was holding something back.
...
"Thanks for coming with me, guys." Adora jumped down.
"Of course." Bow responded.
"And the Queen is okay with us taking off? I would've thought a mission to the Crimson Waste would've been to risky for her."
"Oh, she hates this idea." Glimmer said. "Which is why I didn't tell her. It's not like anyone else has a plan to stop Hordak from opening a portal. You're right. Tracking Mara's message to the source is the best lead we have."
"Plus, for an inhospitable desert, this place is kind of beautiful. Oh, there's even a cute little bird." After Bow had said that the bird froze. "Never mind, this place is terrifying."
"Okay, I know it's scary and dangerous, but if there is something to do with portals here, we have to find it for the Rebellion. And... for me." This was one of the things I hated about going on this trip was I had no idea what was going on. "Which way now, Bow?"
"Uh..." Bow laughed.
"Bow, please don't tell me we are lost because if we are I am going to punch your head off." I said.
"So we weren't technically lost. But now my tracker pad is dead so we might be lost for a little bit."
"Bow I am going to strangle you!" I started running after him until Adora and Glimmer pried me off him.
