The Sea Gate (part 2)

We arrived at this bar place. All I could think about was why Glimmer didn't Want Claire to come. I thought they were really close. I mean they were friends for like two years.

We walked in. People were dancing, wrestling, gambling, drinking, you name it.

"This is so cool. Seaworthy is just like I imagined it. Everyone here looks like a pirate. I wish Claire was here to see it." Bow gasped. I could see a hint of guilt in Glimmer's eyes, but only for a second.

"Focus, Bow." Glimmer began. "We're just here to find a sea captain."

"No pirates?" Bow whines.

"No pirates." Glimmer responded.

While they were talking I was looking around. "None of these people look qualified to sail a ship."

Glimmer goes up to the bat table, "Excuse me." She chuckled. The bar tender lady turned around. "Uh, we're looking for a sea captain to take us to Salineas." The bar tender pointed to someone. She pointed to this guy who was arm wrestling someone else. I couldn't get a good glimpse of him.

We walked over a he was celebrating his victory.

"Uh, hi." Glimmer approaches him. "We were told you're a sea captain?"

"I am the one and only Sea Hawk." He jumps onto the table. "Has my reputation preceded me?"

"You're name is Sea Hawk?" Bow stares. "That's the coolest name I've ever heard!"

"Captain Sea Hawk we're interviewing potentially captains to take us to Salineas." Glimmer sits down.

We here someone running through the door. We turn to look and see it is Claire.

We all yell, "Claire!"

"Oh, hey guys." She walks over to us.

"How'd you get here." Glimmer asks. She was obviously not happy with Claire being here.

"I accidentally teleported." Claire stated.

"You can't accidentally teleport." Glimmer fumed. She was obviously not happy that Claire was here.

"Yes, you can. I do it all the time." Claire says.

"Whatever." Glimmer mumbled turning back to Sea Hawk. "Would you like to apply for the positions!"

Claire leaned over and started whispering to me, "What is going on."

I turned to her and started filling d her in on who Sea Hawk was.

"Thanks." She whispered turning her attention back to Sea Hawk. I stated at her for another second. I felt butterflies in my stomach but i didn't know why.

"Apply for the position? I am the one and only Sea Hawk. I'm offer only." He laughs.

"Okay. Just because "Sea" is in your name, it doesn't tell us anything about your actual qualifications." I was extremely annoyed with him.

"Qualifications? I once ran the 50-klick Galebreath Gauntlet in less thank 20 klicks. I maneuvered the Serpentine with nary a chip in the paint of my bow. My shanties are considered so desirable, that sirens fling themselves into sea at the sound of them. And because I can tell you're wondering, my mustache is naturally shiny." He was a very cocky person.

"It is shiny." Bow stares at it. "You're hired." Glimmer comes over and elbows him. "Ow."

"Woah there, kids. What makes you think you can afford me?" He says.

"I assure you, Captain Sea Hawk, money is no object." Glimmer replied in her most professional voice.

I had a feeling the bill fee was going to be high.

"Behold my fee." He said taking a piece of paper out of his pocket.

Glimmer gasp, "Money might be an object. You know what? Fine. We'll just find another sea captain." We started walking away.

"Good luck with that." He said "You won't find another soul who knows the treacherous route to Salineas as well as I do. I brave it often to visit my close personal friend, Princess Mermista."

Glimmer gasps again, "You know her?"

"Do I?" He asks all cockily.

Claire walks over fake laughing. One thing I knew about Claire is that the minute you push her to far, she was going to snap and make you feel awful about yourself. I just felt bad for Sea Hawk.

She put her hand on the table, "Here's the deal Sea Hawk. Winner takes all. One round. You win, we leave you alone. I win, you take us to Salineas. At no cost.

"That's a terrible deal. But I am undefeated at arm wrestling. Let me show you how it's done, lassie." He puts his arm out. Ohhhh, Sea Hawk is going down.

Before they start Glimmer shouts out, "Claire you're not strong though."

Claire looked back and once she was done with Sea Hawk she was going to move on to Glimmer.

They were going and we were cheering Claire on.

"Ha! This is the best you've got? I once beat a Trysaur with biceps the size of my head in an arm wrestling match that lasted two weeks." He was trying to throw Claire off.

"You know you have told a bunch of lies tonight. The biggest one was probably that your mustache is real." Claire laughs throwing Sea Hawk off guard and winning.

"Well, truth be told, I let you win so as to, ahem, boost your confidence. I've been wanting to go to Salineas anyway. Come on, kids, with me! Forward to adventure!" He was crying a little while saying that.
