Part 15 - HALLOWEEN

It had been a couple of days since Eddie took you to the movie theatre and you were feeling a lot better. Your favourite night of the year was coming up, Halloween, and it was quickly approaching. It seemed like everyone around you was planning some sort of Halloween party. Mike had decided to throw a Halloween party with the boys and asked you to join. You gladly accepted of course, you loved hanging out with the boys.

It was already after school so you bolted home to go get ready for the night. All you knew was that it was going to be a costume party, and it was going to be held at Mikes place. You and Eddie had discussed costume plans prior to this, you ended up decided on 'Bikers' as a couples costume. You looked around your room as you searched for an outfit. You ended up deciding on a fitted low cut black tank top, a leather skirt, some combat boots, and a leather jacket that Eddie has borrowed you.

*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*

You ran upstairs from your bedroom and hurried to the door. As you opened the door Eddie turned around "Hey-". His eyes widened. You looked absolutely divine, there was something about you in a black leather outfit that got him going.
"Wow. You look gorgeous" he said as he twirled you in a circle. You chuckled "thanks Eddie".
"Shall we?" He gestured for you to go first
"We shall" you said as you walked past him, only getting a step ahead of him before he smacked your ass.

Once you arrived at Mikes you could hear chit chat and the sound of music flowing up from the house, there were cars parked all along the street. You grabbed onto Eddie's hand as he lead you inside.
"Hey guys!" Dustin yelled from the kitchen.
"HENDERSON!" Eddie said as he greeted Dustin and the rest of the crew.
You looked around the party, it had turned out to be a mix of Nancy and Mikes friends. You scanned the room hoping you would see Steve, the two of you hadn't talked since his party but you wanted to clear things up.
"Hey babe, beer?" Eddie asked as he held a bottle in his hand. You nodded and smiled.

A bit of time had passed in the kitchen so you, Eddie, Dustin, Mike and the rest of the Hellfire club migrated to the basement. Someone had turned on a scary movie down there, it caught your attention so you sat on the couch and started watching it. You had completely lost track of time, you looked around the basement for Eddie but he wasn't there, actually no one was there now. 'Hm, oh well' you thought. You were enjoying the alone time so you sank back into the couch and turned back to the television to continue watching the movie.

"Oh- hey Y/N" someone said.
You knew that voice ... You turned around and saw Steve standing next to you.
"Oh, hey Steve" you said.
"Mind if I sit?" He asked
"All yours" you said as you gestures to the other side of the couch.
This was kind of awkward..The two of you sat in silence for a few moments before Steve started up the conversation again.

"I... um.. I just wanted to apologize about the party at my place. I was really drunk ... and I know that's not an excuse but I just want you to know that I'd never intentionally hurt you Y/N and I'm really sorry if I did" your eyes met his, you could tell that he was being genuine by the look on his face.
"I'm not going to lie, Eddie was also out of line for throwing that punch at me but I know I deserved it" he said.
"No one deserved that Steve. You were both in the wrong for what each of you did, you did hurt me but I do forgive you" you smiled at him.
"So.. we're good?" He asked with a smile.
"Yea Steve, we're good" you smiled back.
"Oh Thank god" he sighed as he put his hand on his chest "Because I was about to tell Dustin that I had to stop being his friend-"
"Why would you do that?" You asked
"Because you're always around the guys now, and don't get me wrong I'm not complaining like at all, but it's hard for me to be around you, Y/N" he looked down at his drink and pondered for a few moments.
".. why is it hard to be around me?" You questioned as you sat up straight.
"If it wasn't already obvious... you should know that I have a crush on you... like a big one" he said with a little hesitation.
You sat in silence between you two for a few more seconds, you could hear the bumping of the music and the non stop talking coming from upstairs.
"Oh Steve I-" you tried to talk.
"No no - I know... it's not fair to put you in this kind of situation I just really needed to get that off of my chest" he said.

You weren't really sure what to do or how to take this new information. It's not like you were mad at him for having a crush on you, but you're with Eddie. You did like Steve but only as a friend. You were a little anxious so you stood up and he stood up with you. The only thing you could think of doing right now is giving him a hug, so you did. You felt a sigh of relief as you embraced Steve in your arms.
"Thank you" he whispered. As you took a step back you smiled and nodded.
"Well I guess we should get back to the party?"
"Yea heh, probably" you said back as you scratched the back of your head.

As Steve walked up the basement stairs you followed right behind him. The moment you reached the top your eyes met with Dustin's, he gave you a nod of approval, as if he had already known what you and Steve had just talked about. But let's be honest, that kid new just about everything about Steve so it wouldn't surprise you. You followed Steve into the kitchen, he passed you another beer after cracking it open for you "thanks Steve" you smiled. "You're welcome Y/N" he said as you clinked your beers together. "Cheers to being friends" he said as he took a swig. "Cheers" you said as you did the same.

The two of you were actually having a great conversation, you continued to talk for a little while longer, but suddenly you felt an hand reach grab you by the waist and pulled you away. You looked up, it was Eddie, and he looked angry at something "Eddie what the hell? I almost spilt my beer!" You hissed. He was taking long strides, which he only did when he was really mad. The two of you headed upstairs into the bathroom in a hurry.
