Part 49 - EXAMS

" Babe come on, focus on me. You're going to do great, don't worry" you said as you tried to calm Eddie down. He sighed "There's just a lot of pressure riding on these exams Y/N" he looked into your eyes, you could tell he was nervous.
"I know Eddie, I know. But we're going to pass" you reassured him.

The principal got everyone's attention "Alright everyone! Exams will be 3 hours long, you may ask questions as long as you quietly raise your hand, a teacher will come to you. Absolutely no talking. If you disturb the exam you will be escorted out" everyone went silent and started writing their exams.

———Time skip to after exams———

"Eddie!" You said as you caught up to him in the hallway. He turned around and gave you a shy smile "Hey" he said. The two of you walked to your locker to put your things away so you could leave for the day.
"So how do you think you did?" You said as you put your pens back in your locker. Eddie leaned against the locker next to yours "Honestly... I think I might have bombed it" he sighed "I don't know, I just kind of blanked" he said in a defeated tone. You closed your locker and looked up at him "Babe, I'm sure you passed, we studied so hard" you said.

Eddie still looked defeated about the exam so you came up with an idea "Hey" you said as you smiled "let's do something fun for the rest of the day, hm?"
Eddie smiled "Sure, what do you have in mind?" He asked.
"We're going to need your van" you said with a giant toothy grin.
"Lead the way" he smiled back.

The two of you walked back to Eddie's van, he started it up and looked over at you "Where are we going sweetheart?" He asked.
"Lovers lake" you said. Eddie smiled and started driving. He rested his right hand on your thigh as he drove, every now and again he'd rub his thumb back and forth, you could tell he was stressed but you were going to take care of that. When you arrived Eddie put the van in park, and shifted his body towards you "Sooo, why did we come here?" He asked. You turned to face him "I just wanted us to take our minds off of the exams, come on" you said as you hopped out of the van, Eddie followed.

You grabbed his hand and started walking through the woods.
"How about you teach me some tricks for dnd tonight?" You asked.
"I would love that" he said "only if you can do something for me too?" He asked.
"Of course, anything" you said as you looked up at him.
"I um, I want to see what I look like with eyeliner" he said nervously "I just want to try it to see if I like it and maybe start doing it for Corroded Coffin shows" he added.
"Yes! Oh my god I'm excited" you giggled.

"WHOA-" you tripped on a branch stuck in the ground and fell flat on your face, bringing Eddie down with you. You tried to catch yourself with your hands but you slipped.
"JESUS!" Eddie yelled as he fell with you.
"Owwww" you groaned.
Eddie crawled towards you and brushed your hair out of your face, revealing a good size scratch that was causing blood to come out "Jesus Christ. Y/N, are you okay?!" He asked.
You whimpered as you started to feel the pain coming from your hands and face "Is it bad?" You asked.
"Come on" Eddie said as he helped you up back onto your feet.

Once back at the van he opened the back doors and sat you on the edge "Give me your hands" he said, you opened both of your palms and held them out towards him.
"Ohh babe" he sighed as he looked at the damage "hang on" you watched as Eddie walked around to the passenger side, you heard the glove box open and close before he returned with a tiny first aid kit. He pulled out an alcohol pad and looked into your eyes "This is going to sting okay?" He said. You nodded your head as he took your hand in his and started wiping the blood and dirt off, you hissed at the stinging feeling of the alcohol burning. Eddie was gentle "I'm sorry babe" he said quietly. He did the same with your other hand before moving to your face. Grabbing a new alcohol pad he wiped the blood off of your cheekbone, you hissed again at the pain
"Does it at least look cool?" You giggled.
Eddie gave you a smirk "It's badass" he chuckled. He stood back and grabbed a bandage for your face before applying it very carefully to your cheek.
"There" he said as he put everything back into his first aid kit.
"Thank you Dr Munson" you said with a smile.
"Do you want to go?" He asked.
"I'm okay to stay if you are.... Maybe no more walking though, apparently I can't do that today" you chuckled.
"Lay down" he said as he climbed into the back with you. You did as you were told and laid down, Eddie closed the door behind him and joined you. He brought you in close as he cuddled you.

The two of you laid in silence, enjoying the peace and comfort you brought each other.
"Eddie?" You said.
"Hm?" He hummed.
You leaned up and rested on your elbow "Remember that house that you took me to a little while ago?" You asked.
"Of course" he said.
"I haven't stopped thinking about it since then..." you looked down and played with his necklace. Eddie noticed you were hesitant to say something so he smiled and cupped your sore face in his palm "Hey...No matter what life throws our way I know that I want us to be together and to live in that house....." he paused ".....I've said it before Y/N, you're the only one for me" you smiled and closed your eyes as you leaned into his palm "So are you" you hummed. Eddie brought you back into his chest, you focused on his steady heart beat.

"Y/N?" He whispered.
"Yes?" You asked.
"Thank you" he said quietly.
"For what?" You asked.
"For this, for calming me down when I need to be, for teaching me new things, for being my girlfriend, for everything.." he started choking up "I- I don't know what I'd do without you Y/N... and I can't stop thinking about when your mom said she was going to move you guys... my heart just- it shattered...it really put into perspective about how much you mean to me.. and I've never felt like this before"
Tears started forming in your eyes "Eddie" you whispered.
"I love you" he said as he pulled you in closely "So. Fucking. Much" he added.
Your heart fluttered as he said those words "I love you too" you hummed.

Eddie sat up and brought you with him, he took your hands in his and looked into your eyes "I want to marry you one day" he said. Your heart practically skipped a beat, you were almost too stunned to speak so you just smiled.
"Me too" you whispered as you bit your bottom lip. Eddie smiled before cupping your face with both hands and bringing you in for a kiss, sparks flew as your lips joined. You were never going to get over the feeling of kissing your boyfriend, he was perfect.

"Should we go back to mine or your place?" You asked.
"Let's stay here a little longer" he whispered
"Okay" you whispered back as you brought him in for another deep kiss.

(Apologies for the sporadic activity, my personal life has been busy af. I'm getting married in September so it's been non stop wedding planning as of late.
This story brings me so much joy though and I don't plan on ending it or my one shot story any time soon!! I appreciate each and every one of you. It makes my day when I read the comments/ private messages from you.
