Part 23 - NIGHTMARE

——————Y/N POV in her dream ——————

You found yourself in a graveyard. It was pitch black and there was fog everywhere. You heard that twisted clock chiming again only this time it was louder.

"Y/N...." You heard a deep familiar voice calling you from the distant as it emerged through the fog.
"No!!!" You screamed and turned heel.
"NO YOU'RE NOT REAL!!" You screamed even louder as you started to run. Whatever this thing was, was powerful. It moved its finger and one of the vines caught your leg, twisting around it as it pulled you down.
"PLEASE. NO. PLEASE" you cried as you tried to grab onto something. It continued to drag you until you were brought up face to face with this creature.

"Y/N... it's your time... to join me..." it growled.
"You're not real, you're not real, you're not real" you tried to comfort yourself as you squeezed your eyes shut. It brought its hand up to your face and glided its nail across your cheek, a single tear fell down your cheek. You were unable to move, unable to form any words. This was pure terror.
"Please leave me alone" you cried out
"No... join me here... Y/N" it growled again.

You looked around for anything to hit it with but you saw nothing, with your hands tied behind your back you were useless. Your eyes locked with its eyes, they were milky in colour, they looked dead yet they were staring at you and it was terrifying.

You almost accepted your fate when you heard Eddie and your friends calling from a distance.

————-Eddie's POV————-

You woke up to Y/N whimpering, you turned over and saw her still sleeping. You quickly grabbed the flashlight beside you and turned it on to look at your watch to see what time it was, 3:17am.
"Y/N?" You asked as you put your hand on her arm. No response, she was out cold.
"No- you're not real....you're not real," she murmured.
"Sweetheart wake up, you're dreaming" you said as you shook her shoulder a little.
She was in a cold sweat, her eyes started fluttering profusely.
"Y/N wake up! You're scaring me!" You said with a more assertive tone.

The zipper of your tent unzipped, you turned around and saw Dustin, Mike, and Max standing there in fear.
"What's happening?" Dustin asked.
"It's Y/N, she's having a nightmare but won't wake up" you said in a shaky voice.
You looked up at them with fear in your eyes.
You brought Y/N into your arms and everyone sat around.
"Y/N!" "Y/N! "Y/N wake up" everyone was now shouting, trying to wake her up. Her eyes were still fluttering, tears were running down her face.
"Sweetheart....it's me. Please come to me, please please please wake up" you started crying as you brushed her hair to the side.

Finally Y/N came to. She tried to catch her breath as she looked around her, she was completely terrified of something but it wasn't any of you guys. She grabbed onto your arm as she cried. "Eddie!" She cried as her grip tightened around your arm. You wrapped your arms tight around her "I'm here sweetheart, I'm here" you said as you rubbed her arm in comfort. You looked at the rest of the group, they looked relieved and were all sitting down now trying to catch their breaths.

"Are you okay?" You asked.
"I- I was having a nightmare" Y/N said with a shaky voice. You embraced her in your arms again while you cradled her head in your hand.
"It's okay babe, I've got you" you whispered as you looked at the gang. "I've got you, shh it's okay" you said as you tried to calm her down.

Dustin, Mike, and Max all made sure Y/N was okay before they all headed back to their tents. You managed to calm Y/N down but she was still upset. "Come on, let's try and get some sleep" you said as you pulled her back to lay down with you. She quickly snuggled up to your chest and rubbed her hand up and down.
"Thank you, Eddie" she whispered "I don't know what I would have done without you".
You wrapped your arm around her while you placed a kiss on her forehead.
"Please don't scare me like that again" you whispered. She nodded as she dozed back to sleep.
