Part 46 - WHY? (Some Eddie POV)

You woke up to the sound of voices coming from upstairs, you slowly got up and made your way upstairs.
"Hey honey!" Your mom said as she hugged you.
"Hi mom, how was your week?" You asked.
She pulled away from the hug "Um, well let's take a seat" she said before you two sat on the couch. She took your hands in hers and looked into your eyes.
"Honey... there's no easy way to say this" she sighed "...the lab wants to move us to California"
Your heart dropped, no, this can't be happening.
"They told me they'd let me know in 24 hours what the decision will be it I wanted to tell you, if they go ahead and move us it'll be by the end of the next 48 hours"
You were speechless. You yanked your hands from her and stood up.
"Honey I-" she started to talk.
"No, mom I can't do this-" you snapped as you grabbed your bag and rushed for the door.

You practically ran outside and slammed the door behind you. 'Again? Are you fucking kidding me?! I can't do this again, no way' you thought to yourself. You folded your arms over your chest and kept walking at a fast pace.

————Eddie's POV————

After band practice you headed back home to change quickly and call Y/N. Once you arrived back at home you hopped in the shower and cleaned yourself up. After you were done you headed back into your room and quickly got dressed, you were startled by the phone ringing so you rushed to pick it up.
"Hello?" You said.
"Hi Eddie, it's Y/N's mom, um is she there?" She asked.
"No, I was actually just about to call and see what she was up to though" you said, there was a long pause on the phone "Mrs Y/L/N, is everything okay?" You asked as you played with the cord of the phone.
She started to sob "I don't know, I think she's angry with me....her and I had a fight and I'm worried" Another pause "she didn't tell me where she was going she just left before I could finish talking" she sniffled "I don't know if she's going to tell you or not, but my work wants to move us to California and I have to give them an answer by the end of tomorrow" your heart stopped, you were unable to process what she just said.
"Eddie? Honey are you still there?" She said.
You swallowed harshly and tried to hold back your tears "Yea- Yea I'm still here"
"If you find her can you please tell her to come home and talk to me? I'm really worried" She said.
"Yea, sure. Sure" you managed to spit out.
"Thank you, Eddie" she said before hanging up the phone.

You put the phone back down and walked to your room, unable to process what the fuck just happened you grabbed your walkie and turned it on.
"Dustin?" You said in a shaky voice. You waited a few seconds before pressing down on the button again "Dustin, man, I really need to talk to someone" you choked on your words.
"Eddie?" You heard Dustin on the other end and sighed.
"Yea man in here" you said.
"Is everything okay?" Dustin asked.
"Nah man, pretty far from it" you said as you leaned your head against your arm.
"Where are you?" He asked.
"I'm at home" you replied.
"Stay where you are, I'll come to you" he said before you heard his radio click off.

After what felt like eternity you heard a knock at the door, you got up and swung the door open. There stood Dustin, without saying a single word you swung your arms around him and brought him in for a hug. You couldn't hold it in anymore, tears started streaming down your face.
"Whoa Eddie, are you okay?" He asked as he hugged back. You still couldn't form the words to explain how you felt. Dustin managed to pull himself off of you, he leaned back and looked directly into your eyes.
"Eddie please say something" he said as he put his hands on your shoulders.
"I- it- Y/N might be moving away" you choked on your words "I don't know what to do man" you started crying harder.
"Come on" Dustin said as he led you back into your room. You sat on your bed and put your hands over your face as you continued to cry.
"I can't lose her" you said quietly before looking up at him "I can't lose Y/N... I love her so fucking much man" you sniffled.

Dustin leaned against your dresser and crossed his arms "What do should we do?" He asked
"I don't know" you wiped a few tears from your eyes "I don't even know where she is right now" you shook your head.
"Well then let's go find her, what are we still doing here?" He said as he stood up straight.
"I don't even know where she'd be" you said as you stood up as well.
"Well what's your go to place with her?" He asked. You took a few moments to think, where do you take her the most aside from your place.....
"Skull rock, maybe?" You said as you looked at Dustin.
"Well then let's go!" He exclaimed.

The two of you hopped in your van and you booked it to skull rock, your hands gripped the steering wheel tight, your knuckles turned white. You were so anxious to find Y/N. with the way you drive you made it to skull rock in no time. You and Dustin got out of the and started walking fast towards skull rock.
"Y/N!" Dustin called out "Y/NNNNNN" he called out again.
"Y/N! ARE YOU OUT HERE?" You yelled.

When you finally arrived at skull rock you noticed a dark shadow underneath the rock, you started running.
"Y/N?!" You called out as you got closer, sure enough it was her.
"Eddie? What are you doing here?" She said as she looked up at you with puffy red eyes. You kneeled down beside her and placed your hands on her face.
"I was so fucking worried sweetheart" you brought her in for a hug, she was freezing. You leaned back and took your leather jacket off and wrapped it around her.
"Eddie, my moms work-" she started saying.
"I know babe, I'm not going to let it happen" you tried holding back tears but a few dropped down your face "You're 18, she can't make you move....I-I'll quick school and get a full time job if I have to, I'll sell all of my shit so we can get a place tougher" you held onto both of her hands "Y/N, I love you. It's going to be okay" You watched as she looked into both of your eyes, she immediately broke down and started crying. You embraced her in a hug and rubbed her back.
"You're freezing. Let's get you into the van, okay?" You whispered. You felt her nod her head yes.
"What's Dustin doing here?" She asked as she watched him give a shy wave.
"I um. I'll tell you about it later" you said as you helped her up "Come on, sweetheart" you said.

The three of you walked back to your van, you helped Y/N into the passenger seat and got into the drivers seat. You started up the van and let the heat run for a little bit, you turned to Y/N and put your hand on her lap.
"It'll be okay sweetheart, I promise. We'll figure something out" you gave her a smile. She cracked a tiny smile back before she placed her hand on top of yours and started playing with your ring.
"I know this is like a moment, but are you guys down for some food? I'm starved" Dustin said from the back of the van. You shot him a quick side eye.
"Are you being serious, Henderson?" You snapped.
"Uhhh....yea I am" he said, he was clearly trying to cheer you and Y/N up so it was a little hard to be mad at him. You looked over at your gorgeous girlfriend "What do you say sweetheart, are you hungry?" You asked as you rubbed your thumb on her thigh. She looked at you and smiled "Yea" she sniffled "I could eat"

(The next chapter will be out in the next few days, I've got a lot going on this weekend so I'll be writing this story and my one shot story whenever I can. I hope y'all understand. Okay love y'all💕)
