Part 26 - FIGHT

It was another day at school, you headed to your locker just before the bell rang for next period. You over heard the girl next to you "... and then Steve said that he saw Eddie and a girl go into the woods this morning before schoo-"
"Hey Y/N!" Robin said as she slammed your locker, you tried to hear the conversation happening behind you but Robins loud raspy voice was preventing you from hearing anything else.
"Uh hey Robin" you said as you started walking towards class. "How have you been?"
"Oh you know, same as always..." she said as she started rambling on, you tuned her out before realizing you had arrived at your next class.
"This is me" you said as you entered the class room.

Throughout the class you continued to hear little whispers about Eddie and this mystery girl, some were saying it was Chrissy but that's all you could pick up. Your stomach started to turn, you felt like you were going to throw up you were so upset and angry. Not being able to focus on class you made up an excuse and left for the bathroom. Completely lost in thought you realized you were already half way home. There was still a little more than half the school day left but fuck it, you couldn't handle being at school today.

Once you got home you tossed your bag at the front door before heading downstairs to your room. You searched through your vinyls before landing on your favourite at the moment, Kate Bush, dropping the needle onto the record you let it play as you fell onto your bed. There were so many thoughts going through your head, Eddie would never do something to hurt you.. right?.. he loves you.. right?

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

You woke up in a cold sweat, yet again. You sighed "Fuck. What a dream". You looked over at the clock 7:32pm. 'Jesus.. I didn't mean to fall asleep'.
"Honey? The school called me at work and said you didn't show up for the rest of your classes. You okay?" You mom called from outside of the door.
"Um yea mom, I just wasn't feeling well so I came home and fell asleep" you said. Your mom cracked the door open a little, just enough for you to see her face.
"There's left overs in the fridge if you'd like, I have to go back to work right away. Please eat something baby, okay?" She said in a soft tone.
"Okay mom, thank you. I love you" you said as you sat up.
"I love you too, sweetie" she said before closing the door behind her.

You laid in bed for what felt like forever before you heard your mom leave for work. A few short moments later the phone rang, you walked up to the kitchen and picked up the phone that hung on the wall next to the fridge.
"Hello?" You said
"Hey sweetheart" Eddie said on the other end
"...oh. Hi" you said
"I didn't see you at school today, is everything okay?" He asked.
"Un no, I'm just not feeling well" you hesitated.
"Do you want me to come over? I don't have Hellfire Club tonight" He asked.
"No. That's alright I think I'm just going to sleep.." you paused.
"Well if you change your mind I'm just a phone call away, okay sweetheart?" He said
"Okay, goodnight" you said as you hung up before he could reply.

You grabbed some left over food from the fridge and popped it into the microwave. Once it was ready you sat at the dinning room table, thinking about the phone call you and Eddie just had. It's like he was completely unaware of what he was doing, how much he was hurting you. You sat in silence, trying to force down the food you had made yourself.

Before heading back to your room you grabbed a glass of water. Once inside your room you closed the door, placed the water on your nightstand and turned on your little TV set. The TV station was cutting in and out, you sat back on the bed and pulled the blankets over yourself, only to drift off to sleep a few moments later.

TAP TAP TAP TAP

You woke up to tapping on your bedroom window, 'what the fuck' you thought. You looked over and saw Eddie so you pointed at the door and got up. As you opened the door you noticed it was night time... 'did I just sleep for a whole day?' You thought.
"Hey, are you okay sweetheart? I didn't see you at school so I tried calling but no one was answering" he said as he leaned against the door frame.
"Yea, I'm fine" you said with a stern face before rubbing your eyes.
"Y/N, I can tell when you're upset, what's wrong?" He asked as he placed his arm on yours.
"Don't play dumb Eddie, you know exactly what you did.." you paused as Eddie looked at you waiting for you to explain. "People were whispering about you yesterday, they say that Steve saw you walking into the woods before school with a girl" you said with tears forming in your eyes.
"I was late for school yesterday, there's no way anyone could have seen me go into the woods because I was scrambling to get in to school before first period." He said as he made eye contact with you.
"You're sure about that?" You said.
"Yes, what's not to get Y/N? Do you really think I would lie to you? Y/N I love you, I would nev-"
"Eddie I don't want to hear it, get out" you snapped.
"Y/N! You really think I would do that to you?" he grabbed your arm "Please sweetheart listen to-" You yanked your arm out of his grip "Do not call me sweetheart Eddie. I am done" you cried as you slammed the front door and stormed away.

Running down the stairs you could feel your cheeks burning red, your heart was racing, stomach turning, you felt like you were about to choke on your own tears before they started streaming down your face. This was your first fight with Eddie and it made you feel absolutely sick. You weren't sure what to believe, the stupid gossip about Steve seeing this happen, or Eddie's word that he didn't. You laid down on the bed and felt the room spinning, there was only one thing you could do that would make you feel better and that was to go straight to the source.... Steve.
