Hopeless Devotion ~ A Jasper Hale Story

Chapter Two -An Occasion-

Saturday, May 7th, 2005

This whole morning has been Alice playing dress-up with Bella, Luckily since I picked out my dress so all Alice really could do with me is compromise on how I wanted to look, Bella who has no style, go to be put to the torture of Alice. 

I now have my hair and makeup done and had just slipped on my dress, Honestly, I feel like a princess, like Belle in particular. I smiled and spun around in the mirror multiple times when Rose came in.

"You look beautiful, He's not going to want you too far from him all night." She smiled. 

I looked over at her dress, it was a gorgeous scarlet, floor-length, like mine, however, it was a mermaidish style I huggled all the right curves for her. The neckline plunged to her waist.  Mine is more princessy and modest in comparison.

"Thank you," I say "You look gorgeous, yourself," She smiled brightly.

"Ready for him to see you?" She asked giving me her hand I pulled the dress up a bit so as to not let the heels ruin it and grab her hand as she walked me to the Stairs. I stood at the top She looked over at Alice who nodded and They moved to the side as I saw Jasper for the first time today.

He once again looked frozen. I start going down the stair firmly holding on to the railing, praying to God that I don't fall. As I made it to the last few steps I of course trip, however, my very own Prince Adam catches me.

"Thanks," I mumbled out he smiled and placed me on the ground.

"You look absolutely stunning, love." jasper whispered into my ear. I smiled and responded.

"You don't look too bad, yourself." 

"Oh really?" He said more stiffly holding on to my waist with one arm and starting to tickle my side. 

"Jazz!" I screeched

"NO!"

"Stop!" I laughed out. 

"How do I look?" He asked chuckling. Continuing his torture.

"You look absolutely hot! Happy?" I say laughing between each word and imitating his compliment to me.

"Thank you, darlin' He says into my ear. 

"Rude," I responded trying to ignore the electricity going down my spine.

"So um, which car are we riding there?" I asked as Rose and Emmett, went outside and Jack was following them Calling Alice down.

Jasper smiled "Well, Edward said he doesn't mind us joining, or we could take the Mercedes." he looked down at me. we were standing in the middle of the foyer. I looked around at the beautiful house and said "

We could take the Mercedes... could Esme and Carlise get pictures" I asked. 

Wanting pictures with him and Esme. Honestly, I wanted pictures with everyone but they all pretty much are gone, or so I thought.

"Of course," He said and Esme gracefully headed our way taking a picture of us in the moment. I smiled brightly.

After she took a few of us posed I turned to Esme. 

"Could I get one with you?" She smiled

"Of course, Dear," She said. 

Esme and I had gotten quite close since Bella's incident, from cooking to picking decorations for a house she refuses to tell me the location of.

I hugged her as Jasper took a couple of pictures of us then it was about time for Edward and Bella to come down.

"Ready to go?" Jasper asked me. I smiled and nodded he lead me out the front door and helped me into the car and closed the door.

The Ride to School was fairly quick Jasper and I made our way to the entrance. Unlike Pheonix, they held their prom in the gym, which was probably the biggest room in Forks. There were a lot of Balloons and streamers it honestly looked like a horror Movie ready to happen, yet it was them trying their best.

In the center of the dance floor, there were two couples dancing gracefully.  Jack and Emmett look dashing and intimidating in their classic tuxedos, Alice in her striking black satin dress with geometric shapes cut out and of course Rose in her dress. 

Jasper lead me over to them and I pause him for a second. "Jazz, I'm not a good dancer..." I whispered to him.

"Don't worry baby, you do fine. It's all in the leading." He said smirking. After I stepped and nearly tripped over his feet he lifted me onto his feet and whirled us around every once and a while he gave me the opportunity to spin and twirl, which I took gleefully. 

Soon Edward and Bella Joined our group and I turned to Bella and tried to rush to her Jasper stayed no less than a step away from me ready to catch me if I tripped again. 

"Bella!" I squealed "You look gorgeous!" I threw my arms around her. She smiled and hugged me back.

"You look beautiful, yourself," She said. I looked like she was about to say something when Edward interrupted us and said "Well before she tries to stall us, let's dance." I smiled and nodded.

Jasper and I whirled around keeping close to the rest when Emmett came over and said "May I dance with my sister?" I giggled at his insinuation and said "Of course, don't tell Jack but you might just be my favorite brother," I said glancing at Jack and winking at him and laughing.

Jasper moved to Dance with Allice and Jack started dancing with Rose.

"Do you have a Wii?" I asked Emmett as he carefully danced a Walz with me as I was horrible at most of the dancing. 

"No," He responded 

"Great I know I am and will always be better at super smash bros than you," I responded smirking.

"We'll see about that," He said in a challenging way.

I smiled in a fake condescending way and asked, "Are you sure you want to set yourself up for failure like that?"

Jasper eventually stole me back and we went and danced somewhere more private.

"Have you been enjoying yourself?" Jasper asked.

"Yeah, I'm already getting under Emmett's skin." I giggled out.

He rolled his eyes at me "Yes Alice mentioned something about buying a Wii."

I stretched up and kissed his cheek, "She might want to have a backup, just in case, you know he rage quits because of my awesomeness." I whispered.

"Life will never be dull with you." Jasper states before pulling me into a deep kiss.

"Never," I murmured into his lips.
