Overture (Jinxx)

Chapter 4

Carolyn

I grabbed the biggest suitcase Myra and I had in our apartment. I started putting all my black skinny jeans, and shirts into the bag. I grabbed most of my pajamas and pit them in the suitcase as well. I left out a pair of Hello Kitty fleece pajama pants and a white long sleeved shirt. I was packing the rest of my shoes when I got a text.

Jinxx:
Hey beautiful ;)

Carolyn:
Hey :)

Jinxx:
So, to make it easier for the guys, how about you stay at my place for the night.

Carolyn:
We're not going to do anything right?

Jinxx:
Of course not! Unless you want to.

Carolyn:
Jeremy!

Jinxx:
I was only kidding! You can have the spare bed. I'll pick you up in an hour, and maybe we could grab something to eat?

Carolyn:
Sure. You can come up this time. I'm on the third floor apartment number 142.

Jinxx:
Okay. I'll see you soon!

Carolyn:
See you soon Jeremy

I turned my phone off and grabbed my laptop case. I shoved my laptop charger in its outside zipper pocket. I shoved my phone charger in the zipper pocket and zipped up the pocket. I picked up my laptop from my desk and put it in its case. I zipped up the suitcase and pulled it off my bed. I pulled it through the apartment and put it up against the wall next to the door. I put my laptop case and my over-the-shoulder bag on top of the suitcase. I went back into my room and grabbed my Black Veil Brides hoodie.

"I can't believe your actually leaving." Myra said.

I turned around to see her leaning against the archway separating the kitchen and the living room, holding a cup of coffee.

I smiled as she walked into the living room and setting the mug on the coffee table.

"C'mon." I said. "We still have forty-five minutes before I leave. How about we watch the season finale of season two of American Horror Story."

"Okay. I'll pull up Netflix, and you go make the popcorn."

I smiled and went into the kitchen to make a large bowl of popcorn for us. I came back into the living room to see Myra was ready to start the final episode of season two.

There was ten minutes left of the finally, when the doorbell rang. I paused the show before getting up and opening the door to reveal Jeremy.

"Oh hey." I said. "C'mon in. Just give us ten minutes."

I lead Jeremy into the living room.

"Myra, this is Jeremy. Jeremy, this is Myra, my best friend." I said.

"Just call me Jinxx." Jeremy said.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Jinxx." Myra said. "C'mon Carrie, lets finish the finale."

Myra and I finished the last ten minutes of American Horror Story. I gave her one last hug before grabbing my laptop case and over-the-shoulder bag. Jeremy grabbed the handlebar of my suitcase and we left the apartment. He put the suitcase in the trunk of his car and I put my laptop case on top. We got in his car and drove to his apartment.

"Your friend Myra," Jeremy said. "why did she call you Carrie?"

"When I moved here," I said "she was the first friend I made. She loves that my name was different, but she thought it would sound more nicer if people called me Carrie. And it just stuck."

"So, all you friends started calling you Carrie?"

"Basically yeah."

We got to the apartment complex and Jeremy parked his car. He took the key out of the ignition and opened the car door. I got out of the car and grabbed my laptop case and Jeremy grabbed my suitcase. We got up to his apartment and he put my suitcase in the spare room. The guitars on the far end were packed up in its cases, leaning against the wall.

"I see your ready too." I said.

"Yeah. C'mon. Let's go get something to eat. We have a really long day tomorrow."

"Thanks, for everything." I said when we got back to Jeremy's apartment.

"No problem." He said as he unlocked and opened the door.

He turned on the light in the living room and sat down on the couch in front of the TV. He turned on the TV and put on a horror film. I went into the guest room and put on my Hello Kitty pyjama pants. I came out of the guest room and sat down next to him and started watching the movie with him. Sometime between the movie, he ended up draping an arm around me, causing me to rest my head on his shoulder. The movie ended and I was half asleep on Jeremy. He shut the TV off, and picked me up bridal style, with my head resting on his chest. He turned out the lights in the living room and walked down the hall to the guest bedroom. He laid me down in the bed and pulled the blanket over me. He kissed my forehead before whispering,

"Goodnight Carolyn. I'll see you in the morning."

"Carolyn," a voice said. "Carolyn. It's time to get up. We have a big day today. You have to get up."

I opened my eyes to see Jeremy sitting on the bed. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and sat up. I saw Jeremy was in a pair of sweatpants and had a Black Veil Brides zip up on.

"Hey sleepy head." he smiled. "The bus will be at Andy's in forty-five minutes. We have to drive over there."

"Okay. Just give me a minute. I've never woken up this early before."

I sat up and rested my head on his shoulder. After a few minutes I got out of bed and followed him down the hallway to where our things were. I grabbed my Black Veil Brides hoodie that laid on top of my things and pulled it on. I helped Jeremy carry everything into his car and we drove to Andy's place.

"Hey guys." Andy said. "You gotta be a little quiet. Juliet is still asleep."

"Isn't she coming with us?" Jeremy asked.

Andy shook his head. "Not till Warped Tour. The guys are in the living room."

All three of us went into the living room, where the rest of the band was.

"Hey guys." Jeremy said.

"Hey you two. You're late again." Jake said.

"Sorry. I kind of almost fell asleep as we were getting our things in the car." I said.

Just then a car horn went off.

"That's the bus." Andy said.

We all collected our things from the cars an got them on the bus. I climbed into one of the bunks and fell asleep.
