Chapter 16

My breaths were short as I panted from exhaustion but that wasn't going to stop me from perfecting this jutsu. Ram, Tiger, Boar, Hare, Dog. "Earth style: Rock Spikes!" I slammed my foot on the ground and watched as the spikes came from the ground and aimed everywhere but the tree I was targeting. "Gahhh!" I screamed in frustration why was this so hard?!

I've been doing this for the past hour and I've yet hit the target. I did everything right correctly, I was focus, my chakra flow is good, I didn't put too much chakra or too little, so why wasn't this working. "Let me take a break." I walked to a shade and sat down and drink some water I had left in the canteen I brought. I've been practicing for two hours, I've been here since six. I practiced my throwing, my lightning jutsu, and this damn jutsu that's not working. 

"God I'm tired," I yawned and laid completely on the floor. I had to get this right If I wanted to make it through the chunin exams. I laughed when a memory popped up in my head.

"Ne, Tachi, Shi-san." I said after drinking the water wiping my sweat from my forehead, we had just finished practicing. I sat next to Sasuke who was sitting next next to Itachi and Shi was sitting next to me.

"Yes Ya-chan?" Shi-san looked at me.

"How was it like being in the academy " I asked. I wanted to know how was it like, was it scary, was it hard, was the teachers mean? I wanted to prepare myself mentally for anything.

"It was quite easy, I had graduated in a couple of months since things were tense with the other villages and we needed ninjas. But I think it'll be different for you guys but I you'll be amazing and be the top of your class!" Shi-san said pulling my cheeks.

"Like Shisui said it was easy if you focus and paid attention. I'm sure you'll do great Kai-chan." Tachi added on and smiled at me.

"Just know I'm going to beat!" Sasuke said to me smirking. "Only in your dreams you would beat me Sasuke." I responded and sticked my tongue out at him.

That was when everything was better. The Uchiha was still here, Shisui was alive and Itachi was wasn't a rogue ninja known for murder, and Sasuke wasn't some grumpy, revenge-obsessive boy. I remember telling Shisui wait for me to become chunin then we can go on missions together now look at me about to take the chunin exams without him. Heck, he didn't even see me become genin.

I pushed myself off the floor and patted my clothes it was time to get the jutsu right. I would become chunin and make Shisui proud, I'm sure he was watching me from where ever in the part of after life he was.

I got into my position again doing the seal signs again. Ram, Tiger, Boar, Hare, Dog. "Earth style: Rock Spikes!" I smiled in content when I saw the spikes closer to the target than before. "Yosh! Closer than before!"

But my body stiffen when I felt someone coming this way. Who could it possibly be? According to the chakra it wasn't Naruto, Kakashi-sensei, or anyone that I knew. I grabbed my kunai that was on the floor and picked it up. "You shouldn't be here." I said when I heard someone land behind me.

I turned around to see who was the enemy, it was dressed in this blue and grey jumpsuit, a black coat on, and a weird hat on.  I looked closely at the hat and noticed it had the Amegakure sign. What was a Amegakure ninja doing here I thought we weren't associated with the Village of the Rain.

"I see you practicing, I'm guessing for the chunin exams?" He shrilled. I raised my eyebrows at him. What type of ninja was this he came here just to ask me this, he didn't even attack me.

"Maybe." I shrugged my shoulders at his question and looked at him bored. "Well you shouldn't! Chunin exams isn't a place for kids like you!" He pointed his fingers at me shouting. Now looking at it his chakra felt familiar now but who's chakra was it.
