3 Days Later
I was lost in a dreamless slumber when a tapping sound echoed in my ears. I groggily opened my eyes, squinting against the light filtering through the curtains. I glanced at clock on the table—it was still very early. Who in their right mind would be awake at this ungodly hour?
The tapping persisted, more insistent now. I followed the sound, my eyes landing on the window. Strangely, there was a figure standing outside. It took a moment for my sleep-addled brain to register that it was none other than Kakashi, my silver-haired, mask-wearing stupid mentor. Why was he at the window in his own house at 4:47 knocking on my window?!
I stumbled out of bed and padded over to the window, rubbing my eyes. "Kakashi, what on earth are you doing here so early? Is something wrong?"
He glanced up at me, one visible eye narrowing slightly. "Get dressed, Kaiya. We have things to do."
Still half-asleep, I blinked at him. "Things to do? It's four in the morning!"
Ignoring my protests, Kakashi continued to tap on the window. "Put on something suitable for a mission. You're going to take the Jonin test today."
I stared at him, convinced that I was still trapped in some bizarre dream. "Jonin test? Are you serious, Kakashi?"
He simply nodded, unfazed by my disbelief. "Dead serious. Don't keep me waiting too long."
With that, he disappeared into the shadows. I stood there for a moment, the realness of his words sinking in. I pinched myself just to make sure I wasn't dreaming. This had to be some sort of prank, right? And why was he coming through the window at his own house?
I rushed to get dressed, my mind racing with a thousand thoughts. Jonin? Was he serious about this? Or was it all joke to see how I'd react? As I tied my headband, I couldn't shake the feeling that this was too surreal to be true.
When I was done it was 5:04. I spotted Kakashi sitting on the couch, reading his beloved orange book. I approached cautiously, still half-expecting him to burst into laughter.
"So...?" I asked tentatively.
He looked up from his book, a rare seriousness in his visible eye. "Kaiya, this is not a joke. You've grown stronger, and it's time to prove it. The Jonin test is a challenge, but I believe you're ready."
I fiddled with the hem of jacket as I listened to him. I didn't know if I wanted to shout for joy or have a panic attack. What if I'm not as strong as they believe and I let Kakashi down? The embarrassment I would feel if I fail. And what if-
"Stop over thinking, Kaiya," Kakashi got up putting his hands on my shoulders. "You've got this, trust yourself, even if you don't pass I'll still be proud of you."
I let out a loud breath and I smiled. "Alright, Kakashi. I'm ready for whatever comes my way."
"Ok, good because we're already seven minutes late." Kakashi eye smiled.
"Kakashi!" I screamed at him throwing the pillow at his face.

I tapped on top of the desk in nervousness as I stared at Ibiki. Damn, he's also the proctor for the Jonin's exam too. He glazed over the candidates and stared at me and smiled at me. A smile that could be translated to "I'm going to eat you up".
I felt a shiver run down my spine but I ignored it. " Congratulations to each of you for reaching this point. You've all shown exceptional skills to make it here." Ibiki declared, his voice unwavering. "Now, the path to becoming a Jonin is not just about strength; it's about knowledge, critical thinking, and unwavering loyalty to the village. This test will challenge you in more ways than one. Remember, the answers lie not only in your books but in your ability to think on your feet."
