The Calm Before The Storm

As we exited the Hokage's office, the we continued to walk.

"That mission was so fun, dattebayo!" Naruto exclaimed, his blue eyes brimming.

I grinned at his enthusiasm. "It was a great, Naru. I think we make a pretty good team."

Sakura chimed in, "I agree. The plan you made at the last minute was so cool."

Naruto's face lit up with a broad smile. "I hope we get to continue having missions together. I like you being the captain."

I nodded in agreement. "I do too, Naruto. We make an excellent team."

Since it happened to be our day off, Naruto shared his plans for the evening. "Hey, how about we go watch a play? There's a new one in town, and I heard it's really entertaining."

I considered the idea with a nod. "Sounds like a great way to spend our day off. I'm in."

As we walked through the lively streets of Konoha, Naruto's loud voice was interrupted when Sakura spoke up.

"Hey, Kaiya, can I talk to you real quick? It won't take long," Kaiya said, her expression serious.

Naruto, slightly lost, stood to the side, waiting for Sakura to start talk. I think its suppose to be the only two of us. However, a visible irk mark appeared on Sakura's forehead. Unsurprisingly, she delivered a swift punch to Naruto, sending him flying away.

"Alone, idiot!" Kaiya snapped.

Once Naruto was out of the way, Sakura turned to me, her tone apologetic. "Sorry about that. I needed to talk to you about something important."

I nodded, "No problem. What's on your mind?"

Sakura took a deep breath. "I need to apologize, Kaiya. I was being childish, especially about Sasuke. I've been trying to become a better kunoichi and grow stronger. I'm even taking lessons from Lady Tsunade."

"It was wrong of me to say all these things. It was not like it was your fault. I'm trying to change and I hope we can keep on growing stronger together."

A smile formed on my lips. "Sakura, you don't have to apologize. We all do things we regret. I'm glad to see you finding yourself and working on becoming stronger."

"Yeah, we'll keep on getting stronger, we kunoichi got to stick together. Can't let the shinobi get a big head on us." I smiled.

With that, we shared a heartfelt moment, but Naruto returned, looking utterly clueless as he looked at us. "Did I miss something?"

"No, you didn't." I replied. "Let's get going."

As we walked through the busy streets of Konoha on our way to the theater, the excitement for the upcoming play was palpable. Sakura and I voiced our curiosity about the play, and Naruto eagerly shared whatever details he knew. Well he thought he knew.

"So, what's this play about, Naruto?" I asked, a playful curiosity coloring my tone.

Naruto, scratching his head, pondered the question. "Uh, I think it's some kind of action-packed drama with cool ninja moves and stuff. Should be awesome, believe it!"

Sakura added, "Sounds interesting. Let's hope it lives up to the hype."

As we continued our conversation about the play, Naruto's attention suddenly shifted. His face looking past us. I looked to see where he was staring off and in the distance, he spotted Team 10—Shikamaru, Choji, and Ino. Naruto couldn't help but draw Shikamaru's attention, and he began yelling his name.
