Final Chapter
Finally after two more days, I was able to leave this horrible room. Tsunade went over my chart. "You're all good to go, just don't use your chakra all at once," she instructed, her gaze fixed on the medical notes. "Remember, no training until the end of next week."
"Yes, yes, I heard," I replied as I finished putting on my clothes. The thought of leaving the hospital was a welcomed relief from the monotony of the medical facility.
As I pondered what to do with my newfound freedom, a realization hit me – everyone was either busy or on a mission. A sense of disappointment washed over me, casting a shadow on my plans for the day. Tsunade, ever perceptive, noticed the change in my expression.
"What's with the sad look on your face?" Tsunade questioned, her gaze piercing.
"I have nothing to do," I replied with a slight frown, feeling a bit aimless.
Tsunade tapped on her chart before she offered a suggestion. "Go with Shikamaru."
I shook my head in response. "He's in the Ino–Shika–Chō semi-annual meeting, so that means Ino is busy too. Hinata is on a mission, and so are the others."
A slow smile spread across Tsunade's face, and a sinking feeling settled in my stomach. "Oh no," I thought, bracing myself for whatever mischief Tsunade had in mind.
"Since you're bored, you'll help me around the office," Tsunade declared, an evil glint in her eyes. My face paled at the thought, and I shook my head vigorously.
"I actually don't mind being bored all day. Thanks for helping me figure it out," I quickly replied, attempting to make my escape. However, my feeble attempt was thwarted as Tsunade grabbed me by the collar, pulling me back.
"Too late. You're not going anywhere," Tsunade grinned, clearly reveling in my predicament.
"No!" I protested, starting to thrash around, but my resistance was no use . Tsunade, annoyed, grabbed me by the ears and dragged me out of the hospital and toward the Hokage building.
"You can't treat someone who just got out of the hospital like that, or it'll end up back in the hospital," I complained, my protests falling on deaf ears. Tsunade remained the same, paying no heed to my cries. Eventually, we reached the Hokage's office.
Scanning the room, I couldn't help but notice the overwhelming amount of paperwork that needed attention. "That's a lot of papers," I remarked.
"It's even worse when you look at it," Tsunade replied. "You'll take care of the paperwork on that desk; it's usually for Kotetsu and Izumo."
Nodding, I began walking toward the desk. However, a sudden realization struck me. "Are you paying me for this?" I questioned, hoping for some compensation for my involuntary labor.
In response, a cup was thrown at my head, "I'll take that as a no," I muttered.
As I worked on the paperwork, a several documents lay before me. Some detailed plans for reconstruction and new buildings, others contained complaints from civilians, and a few presented business ideas that required the Hokage's approval. The mountain of responsibilities seemed to grow worse and worse, and I couldn't help but wonder if I stumbled into a paperwork nightmare.
As I tried to diligently work through the stack, a knock on the door disrupted me. Before either of us could respond, the door swung open, revealing Genma with his trademark grin and Tsunade shot him a glare.
"If you're going to knock, wait until the person gives you a reply," Tsunade scolded Genma, clearly unimpressed by his entrance.
"Sorry, Lady Tsunade. Won't happen again. But here is the report you wanted on the mission," Genma replied, seemingly unfazed by Tsunade's demeanor.
