I stood in the Hokage's office, a small backpack slung over my shoulder. Beside me, Kakashi emitting his usual calm demeanor, a contrast to the mixture of excitement and nerves bubbling within me. Hokage Tsunade leaned forward, her eyes focused on the mission scroll before her, as she began to explain the details of our upcoming A-rank mission.

"Kaiya, Kakashi, you've been selected for an A-rank mission," Tsunade announced. "This will be Kaiya's first A-rank, so Kakashi will be accompanying you. It's a hard and short mission—get in and get out. A stealth operation to retrieve an important scroll currently held by the Fire Lord."

My excitement surged alongside a twinge of nerves. I'm so going to brag about this to Naruto. Tsunade continued, her gaze shifting between Kakashi and me, "The scroll contains sensitive information, and we can't afford to leave it in the wrong hands. Sneak into the Fire Lord's residence, locate the scroll, and bring it back without getting caught."

Kakashi, ever composed, nodded in understanding. "Understood, Hokage-sama."

Tsunade turned her attention to me, her expression stern yet supportive. "Kaiya, this mission is a test of your skills and judgment. You've grown and I trust you to handle it. Kakashi will provide support, but rely on your training and instincts. ."

A surge of determination filled me. "I won't let you down, Hokage-sama."

"Good. The mission starts now. Move quickly, stay low-profile, and bring that scroll back," Tsunade instructed. "Don't make me mad, brat."

Exiting the office with Kakashi, the anticipation of the A-rank mission excited me. We quickly left Konoha, saying our goodbye to Izumo and Kotetsu.

As Kakashi and I leapt from tree to tree, making our way through the dense forest, the anticipation of the mission still lingered. Despite the seriousness, Kakashi and I still chatted, while being fully aware to our surroundings.

"So, Kakashi," I began, a playful tone in my voice. "I find it weird that someone is still leaving white lilies at my door. It's been going on for weeks now, and they've never been caught."

Kakashi, his demeanor as enigmatic as ever, glanced at me from beneath his forehead protector. "White lilies? Maybe he's willing to play the long game. He might be really in love with you."

I wrinkled my nose. "But who would do that anonymously? It's a bit creepy, don't you think?"

Kakashi chuckled lightly. "Maybe it's just a secret admirer who's a bit shy. Nothing to worry about."

I smirked knowing Kakashi's reputation. "Well, you should know all about that, being Konoha's most wanted bachelor."

He laughed, the sound muffled by his mask. "Ah, the joys of fame. It comes with the price, I suppose. It takes serious talent to be like me"

"Don't get a big head one me now, Kakashi," I rolled my eyes as we continued to travel through the woods.

Kakashi chuckled at my joke about his bachelor status, then, he began to stare. Like he was staring in the past.

"You know, Kaiya, it's kind of funny. I once went on a stealth mission with your dad a long time ago," Kakashi said. "Back then, he had a nickname throughout the war – 'Gilded Phantom of Konoha.'"

I was genuinely surprised. "My dad had a nickname? 'Gilded Phantom'? That's... sounds cool."

Kakashi nodded, "Yes, and your mom had one too. They were quite the duo. Your mom was known as 'The Gold Shield of Konoha.'"

I couldn't help but be intrigued. "Really? What did those nicknames mean?"

Kakashi explained, "Your dad's nickname came from his exceptional stealth and infiltration skills. He could slip in and out of enemy territory like a phantom. As for your mom, 'The Gold Shield' reflected her incredible talent in defensive jutsu. She was renowned for protecting her teammates with an impenetrable shield, earning her the title."
