Lost Legacy- Naruto Fanfic

Chapter 24

"Do you think there's still any enemies around here?" Sasuke asked as we jumped through trees branches. I looked around as I could feel at least two different types of chakra and where we were heading I got this anonymous feeling.

"Yes, no mistake." Kabuto answered. "If you think about a little, you'll understand. Do you know the cleverest way of fighting in battles in jungles and expansive forest such as this?" 

"No," Sakura responded.

"Wouldn't it be the first day right after it begins and the last day like right by the tower because they're off-guard and they will be alot teams near the tower." I replied. It would make sense because while some people are tense and on-guard at the beginning of the exam there would be people laid back not worrying when it first starts and the last day because people have the tendency to be not worry since they're almost at the end.

"That's right. The tower located in the center of this forest, the common goal for us test-takers. That means when the last day of the test is here, the are near the tower... is the easiest place to gather scrolls." Kabuto explained. What he said did make sense, he's probably fake but at least he's smart. 

"Oh, an ambush!" Sakura exclaimed as she explains almost the exact same thing Kabuto just said.

"But that's just on third of the answer." Kabuto cited. "I mean you guys aren't the only ones thinking that! Near the tower, the same badgers have probably already set traps, so..."

"I see!" Naruto interjected. "That means there are a lot of enemies lying in wait to engage us! Heh, this is getting me pumped dattebayo! I'm looking forward to it, if we just beat the, all and get the Heaven scroll."

"No! This is still two-third of the answer!" Kabuto said and I let out a sigh, he was talking in puzzles. It would've been much easier if he had just said straight forward.

"What's the remaining one-third of the answer?" Sakura inquired.

"He's saying there will collectors to show in this type of exam. In this exam, with the tower just a stone's throw away, you can't rest easily at all." I voiced out. "Those exact circumstances are what create them."

"Yes, this implies there are people who gather scrolls as some sort of compensation for sparing them when they come across unexpectedly strong enemy," Kabuto explained. "Also those who get information to proceed favourably through later exams by providing the lacking scrolls to comrade sharing the same village."

"And those who are thinking of, under conditions favourable to them, annihilating the powerful ones who will probably get through to the third exam... It goes without saying, but these guys are quite the big guns, and the worst enemies who are definitely not conceited."

"Oh I see." Sasuke said. "The reason why you appeared before us... was because you're scared, right?" He asked. Was that the only thing he got from all that we said?

"That's right," Kabuto agreed. "But now the tower has finally come into view. From here on is the hard part."

"All right, let's go!" Naruto shouted as we speeded through the forest. And how we were rushing in wasn't the best idea to me because we weren't being stealthy and I'm sure others could hear us coming.

"There!" Naruto exclaimed as he threw a kunai. I looked at the direction he threw it at and a huge centipede that made me want to gag. I honestly hate centipedes with mylife. "Oh it's just a centipede." Naruto said

"Yikes! It huge. All those legs are gross." Sakura spoke out as I nodded my head  agreeing with what she was saying. I could say centipede are on my  top five creepiest insects.
