Robin had never been to the initiation room before. He knew where it was but he wasn't brave enough to take a peek. He knew his peers had sneaked in inside and spoke about it in whispers at a later time. It had never interested Robin. Robin entered the room and was surprised by how big the room was. And it wasn't the most brightly lit room. Navigating the empty room made him more nervous than he already was.
His mother and sisters left him at the threshold of the room as if sacrificing him to the devil. The grim look on his mother's face and the evil grin on sisters faces didn't help at all. His mom had asked him to change his mind at least ten times before she let him go. Robin had made up his mind. He wanted to talk to this man who had no fear for his life. He didn't want someone who felt obliged to be with him. It didn't mean that Robin wasn't hesitant. He would avoid it if he was cold. He kept wondering if there were surveillance cameras installed in the initiation room to make sure the deed is done. Marcella people were sadistic like that. His eldest sister Lily had reassured him there were no cameras.
He looked around the room to see where the Alpha was. If the man jumped on him from the shadows Robin would order his execution. Robin had never spoken to an Alpha who wasn't in his blood relation. It was a good thing he chose an Alpha with a spine and not someone who acted like a minion to the royalty.
Robin was startled by a loud bang. He yelped and found the ten feet tall windows open. Marcella palace was situated atop a mountain. Evenings got windy and cloudy. Fog came in through the window, chilling the air and decreasing the visibility further. The only light source in the rooms were the focus lights on the paintings and the light from the glass chandelier. Robin didn't know what they were trying to achieve with such low lightning in the room. Robin walked to the window and closed it. He took a few steps away from the window and saw a shattered lamp shade. When he went further in, a figure slowly came into view.
Robin looked in horror at the man who was shackled to the solid chair in the middle of the room. His hands were bound behind his back. His legs were bound to each chair leg and his mouth was gagged with a metal ball strapped to a leather belt to his face. He had bruises on his face. A small bead of blood was trickling down his hair where the guard must have hit him.
Robin took a few measured steps. "What have they done to you?" he said in disbelief, not that the Alpha slave could talk. To his horror the man chuckled behind the ball gall. The sound so rich it startled Robin. Like the rumbling of clouds on a rainy day. His eyes travelled down the man's bound body. Robin almost gasped when he saw.
Robin paced around the room, not sure what he was supposed to do next. This is not how he imagined his initiation to go. He had never heard of the initiator being bound to a chair like this. He was too shy to speak about it with his friends or siblings. He was scared to even read the manual. He thought the initiator would take care of it but considering the man was bound and gagged, he wouldn't be of much help.
