Robin kept tossing and turning in his bed throughout the night. In the morning it was apparent he was in heat. How the hell did he go into heat without warning? He thought there would be signs a week prior.
"You are burning," Robin's mom said, placing a hand on his forehead. "The maid is bringing in the suppressant but it's not going to help very much on your first heat."
"Mmm," Robin groaned as a new wave of heat spread across his body. He covered himself more and buried his body into the sheets. God, he should have researched more about managing the symptoms of heat.
"There are a few things you need to learn. I should have taught you these before but I never had the opportunity."
"I don't think I am in a condition to learn anything right now," Robin said from under the blankets.
"Robbie," his mom placed a hand on his shoulder. "The first heat is always excruciating. I am leaving a few things on your nightstand, you can use it to cope with the pain but it's going to be difficult. You can fight through this...be strong. All your omega brothers have done it...you can do it too. I will be here if you need me but this is your battle, you have to be brave enough to fight it."
"Can't you stay? I feel scared," Robin didn't remember when was the last time he felt this vulnerable. He usually prided himself on being self-sufficient.
"I wish I could but this is something you will have to do yourself."
Robin bit his lips, holding back the tears.
Robin turned to his side once his mother left. He would get through it, he said to himself. One of the maids came a few minutes later and left suppressants on his table.
Robin stayed under the blanket for as long as he could, shivering and groaning every time a wave of burning chill took over his body. He didn't want to move, didn't want to reach out to take the suppressants. Every movement made his body convulse, his skin burn, his muscles cramp. He thought if he could stay still for the entire duration of his heat, he could get over it but he was wrong.
His stomach cramped so hard he sat up and vomited all over the floor. The little bit of food he had managed to eat throughout the day all lay half-digested on the pristine white marble. He was sweating like a pig and feeling cold at the same time. He didn't remember his omega brothers' heat being this bad. But then he was too young to remember anything.
"God, save me," Robin cried, tears streaming down his face. His hands shook as he reached for the suppressants but they slipped from his palm and slid under the bed. There was no strength in his body to get down and retrieve the pill. He was going to die. That's how it felt. There was no way he would survive this. He should have called for the guards but ringing the bell would alert his mom and he didn't want his mother to see him like this. Didn't want her to think he was overreacting. Moreover, they won't be able to do anything. This was his issue and he had to deal with it alone.
Robin plopped down on the bed, curling himself in a fetal position. He sobbed, not able to handle the excruciating pain. Robin went still when he heard the window open followed by a loud thud of heavy boots on the floor. Robin turned on the bedside light to find Victor standing by the window.
