My blurry eyes opened slightly to see.
"Mum?" My croaky voice called out I shuffled to sit up my eyes searched the hospital room, Kevin passed out on the couch in the corner
"Oh sweetie, I'm so glad your up" her dry hands touched my face as I stared at her.
"Where is everyone? Where's Nancy a-and max. What about Lucas are they all ok?!"
"Of course" her face flickered for a second as if she was mad at me, "but uhm they didn't want to see you, so I thought it might be better if we got out of there for now." A soft reassuring smile was planted on her face. Whereas mine contorted in fear and rage
"What? What do you mean, got out of there? Christine where are we!" My stern voice woke up my brother.
"Sarah your awake!" He hugged me, "god the doctors in that stupid town didn't know what happened during the earthquake and they had to fly you here" his muffled voice spoke into my ear. I squeezed my idiot of a brother closer
"Kevin where are we?" I whisper trying not to get the womens attention
"California where else would we be"
My heart broke, shattered, turned to dust. And the only person able to fix it might be dead.
I slowly let go of Kevin as I got up, "I- I need to go the bathroom."
Christine's firm hand gripped my shoulder as her eerily calm face came into view.
"No you don't" she hit the call button and soon enough a suspicious doctor walked in hold a very big fucking needle
"H-hey. Hey! Christine! You bitch! KEVIN!" The doctor stabbed the syringe into my neck putting into another deep sleep.
As I woke up a shooting pain came from my ankles and wrists, especially my left wrist.
Leather buckles chained me to a bed, it rubbed against the freshly tattooed, 017 on my left wrist.
Flashes of white halls and room entered my mind. Flashes of memories from Australia

"Hey don't forget I'm working late so you have to walk home ok?"
"I'll be fine dad"
I got out of the car and entered the primary school. Meeting up with a few of my friends as we went about our lessons and lunchtime antics throughout the day.
-time skip to last bell-
"Hey Sarah race you to the pick up?" My old friend asked already running
"Hey that's not fair!" I said trying to catch up
"Ha you owe me one chocolate bar" she pointed at me before running over to her mothers van. Giving me a quick wave.
As I started walking towards the bus stop I caught a glimpse of a lady sitting across the road in her car. Holding binoculars? That's weird. I got on the bus sitting up the front to have a conversation with the driver along the way
On my home street I got off walking up the driveway to still see no sign of dad.
Hmm? That weird he's usually here by now.
"He's just running late darling let me take you inside." The same lady from the car ushered me into the house...

My heart started racing as I realised what had happened. Max and the party had told me story's of eleven and the lab. My eyes caught we the red light in the camera
"Let me out! Let me out you psychopath!" I fought against the restraints before the sudden unlocking of the door startled me. Christine walked in holding a bowl of cereal.
"You know, it was sad to put him back into the foster system. But uh I just couldn't trust him." She looked me dead in the eyes, "your all alone now Sarah. No one to help."
"Wha- . What?"
"Your brother revealed our location, or at least our last location." She sat the bowl of the floor and went to walk out
"Eat up, got a lot of stuff to do."
As soon as the door shut the restraints were released. My legs instinctively tucked up near my chest as I cradles my left wrist staring at the permanent mark. I looked down at the bowl investigating the cereal.
"I promise it's not poisonous, I've only just got you back, why kill you now." Her voice crackled through a speaker. I downed the bowl, not remembering the last time I ate.

-time skip-

It's been a few weeks since we tried to kill Vecna, I have since realised the lab here as been running for a few years, multiple children all stuck. It makes me wonder how many facilities there are. And why am I so important to have? This woman has been tracking me since I was 6. Every night I fall asleep and more flashes appear, memories of when she first appeared in my life.
Today was Wednesday, which meant test day, we would compete against each other.
"Good morning everyone!" Her voice echoed in my head
"Good morning ma" all the younger kids droned on in a sing song voice.
"Okay so today we are seeing how well you can hide in your mind, each of you will take turns trying to find your pair in their head and then you will swap and you will have to hide in a memory."
(I hope that makes sense, like mind hide and seek)
The game started one pair at a time. Taking forever when it was finally mine and 020'sturn I got to hide first.
When we do exercise like these I hide in my Hawkins memories, trying to relive the moment, however today I put the blindfold on and started hiding when a brunette girl with a fringe appeared.
"Shh, don't be afraid" her voice spoke, "I'm here to help I promise" her hand touched my shoulder, and my stomach dropped. Flashes of the lab and hospital beds where everywhere, yet the girl seemed determined, flashes of Kevin in the hospital
"I'm almost done" she spoke again
Suddenly one image stayed it was and old road sign
'Nevada'
I ripped off my blindfold and hyperventilated searching around. Christine looked at me.
"What? You weren't found why did you leave. That's cheating"
"Sorry, I understand."
She just rolled her eyes.
