Kabanata 47.

Huminga ako ng malalim bago ko hinigit si Soran. Nakita kong nasa likod lang ng carriage namin ang carriage ng Kerzan family.

"Rina, Brother Laikon, you two go back without me. I am going with my future husband." Nakangiti kong saad bago ko hinigit si Soran patungo sa kaniyang carriage.

Nang makasakay kami ay mahina akong natawa. Ngumisi naman sa akin si Soran bago niya hinalikan ang aking labi. Saglit lang iyon at humiwalay din siya agad.

Pinanliitan ko naman ng mata si Soran nang magsimula ng umandar ang carriage.

"What?" tanong sa akin ni Soran.

"I heard from my brothers that you are a suicidal person."

Grand Duke Kerzan is a famous person in Rowan Kingdom because of his great contribution in previous war. Aside from that, he is well-known because of his origin. He is the nephew of the queen and the only grandson of the former Grand Duke.

However, there's only a limited amount of people who knew the Grand Duke's personality. Among those people are my father and brothers. I heard from them that the Grand Duke is a suicidal man. It's a serious case because his attempt to commit a suicide is too often to be ignored.

I don't really care about Grand Duke Kerzan before, but it's different now that I know who he really is.

Seryoso kong tiningnan si Soran. Bigla kong naalala noong nakita ko siya sa Mt. Ihana. There's a deep slit in his wrist. Now that I think about it, I am certain that he did it to himself.

Tinitigan ako ni Soran bago siya nagsalita.

"Yes, I was. There's no reason for me to live. I wanted to die."

"Why?" tanong seryoso kong tanong.

"Because you left me. You died. I wanted to follow you."

Natigilan ako at napatitig ako kay Soran nang marinig ko ang sinagot niya.

There's a lot of rumors about Grand Duke Kerzan. One of those rumors is about his childhood. His friend died and he was forced to enter the battlefield because he wanted to follow his dear friend.

That dear friend they are referring to is a young girl named Nevie.

I also thought it's only a rumor but I guess it's not.

He loves so much.

Did I really deserve his love?

I can't clearly recall my past life. I was just lucky to remember a small details of it. I don't even have any idea how I died.

But he remembers everything that happened before.

"I'm sorry," mahina kong usal.

"Nevie."

Napaangat ako ng tingin kay Soran ng tawagin niya ang pangalan ko. Hindi ako nagsalita.

"It's not your fault. It's my decision and it's my will. Without you, this world is nothing but a place full of strangers. I don't belong in a world where you don't exist. I don't want to admit it but Nevie, you are my one and only obsession."

"I am greedy for the light. Greedy for the beautiful life you gave me. I am a very greedy person and the only person who can calm my greediness is you, Nevie."

Natahimik ako dahil sa sinabi ni Soran.

There's a lot of ladies out there. Pwede siyang mamili ng kahit na sino. Lalo na noong panahon na alam niyang patay na ako. Pwede siyang humanap ng iba. Pwede niyang kalimutan nalang ako at magpatuloy sa kaniyang buhay.
