Revenge is a weak reason

Tristan Coulter sits on a tree at the edge of the barrier of Kallistine and watches the guards as they patrol as usually in the morning. This is a very special place for him. He remembers how his father died here on the verge of getting back into the city. His father's demonic energy was able to create a bug, making the barrier glitch and fade at this very spot where the tree meets the outside world. This is the only way to leave Kallistine without being noticed by master. If they don't catch you the following days that is. Tristan counts to three and jumps out of the barrier. He has been doing that regularly in order to investigate the exact circumstances of his father's death and how he was able to get his demonic energy stuck even after he died. Once Tristan finds the murderer of his whole clan, he is going to kill him and avenge everyone. This is the only reason he came here and also the only reason why he is still alive. The blonde already has an assumption about who the culprit is but he will need to confirm it. One month ago during a mission, he found fabric at the spot where his father died. It belongs to the imperial trainer of Kallistine city. His name is Ean Astery. The only proof he needs would be, the coat from that guy. This will be a challenge.

I wonder where Tristan is, I would like to give him back his coat. I walk down the river searching for the place where they are supposed to give out food when I see people in a cue right in front of me. Found it. There are not only killers but also normal citizens. I honestly do not want to wait in line but I should start practicing empathy, right? I patiently wait to receive my meal, when there is a fight in front of us. Two young men are fighting. It seems that one of them took the other one's place. Quite amusing. Some old people get scared and leave whereas a few younger ones stay and watch. I notice Alice amongst them and wave as she faces me. How cute. She looks like a little child with her sparkling eyes and golden smile. "Roxanne! You are here! I am so happy to see you again." She yells in excitement. "Yeah, little one. I am pleased you're still alive. These two will keep fighting so let's get our food already." I tell her while taking the lead and walking towards the food on the table. I really like Alice. That girl does not really seem like a killer but she is a loyal one. I get a feeling and react quickly as I catch the falling girl. One of them hit Alice on the forehead. "Are you okay?" I ask. Her physique is really weak. Her only strength lies in brewing poison. She shakes her head and answers with a slight smile: "Yes, thank you..." I glare at the man who hit her. How dare he hurt one of my people? I slowly walk up to him. "Do you have anything to say about that?" I ask in a provoking tone. He simply starts laughing and shows me his bracelet. It is red. So he is a progressive killer. "Honey, I would not be so bold if I was in your place." Seriously? Is it because I am apparently a demon or why does my strength seem to be greater than his? It would be embarassing to beat up a weak one like him so I decide to leave. He spits: "Hey are you ignoring me? How dare you?" I feel him attack and almost want to take action when there is suddenly the other man, stopping him. He whispers: "Let's fight somewhere else. This is the girl in favor of the supreme killer. You may get in trouble." Okay now I am truly offended. I don't need Miya's name to save me. I can stand up for myself. I am very hungry though. I decide to grab my food and go back with Alice. She starts fangirling about me, saying how cool I was. She is really cute. I start to do some strength training to warm up myself before the training in the afternoon when I suddenly remember something. I ask Alice to go to the castle already while I am searching for Tris. I don't want to be carrying his coat all the time. I follow his traces to the edge of the barrier where they stop. I look around but I can't find him. Where the hell is he? I notice a tree that is barely inside the barrier. Maybe I can see him easier this way. I jump on top of the wood and take a look. Again nothing. But I can sense demonic energy from inside the barrier. Lierally. Inside. I slowly approach it with one hand. There is nothing. How is there nothing at the spot that I just touched? I could actually put my hand outside. Is this a glitch or anything? I'm pretty sure it is not supposed to be like that. I grab all my bravery and jump towards the hole I just created. I am outside the city. Damn. What if master finds out? But my doubt gets swayed away when I see a male figure standing behind a tree with a piece of fabric in his hands. He seems to be lost in thoughts so he doesn't notice me as I approach him. He suddenly grabs my hands and forces me down on the ground, ready to attack when he sees my face. "Roxy? What are you doing here?" He asks as he helps me get up. "Surprise." I chuckle. "I could ask you the same thing. I honestly just wanted to return your coat. Thank you." Tris takes it back and nods. I know he is not gonna argue with me so I listen as my friend starts explaining. So apparently he came here after his clan and family got killed. He seems to be a human himself but his father was a powerful demon who transfered almost all of his demonic energy to Tris. Except for the one that has created a hole in the barrier. No wonder my friend looks so unusal while being so powerful. Tristan continues telling me about his plans to get revenge. I feel weird listening to him. I cannot relate. There is never a point in taking revenge. "You do not seem to like my plans for revenge, princess." Tristan adresses. I answer: "It is not like I dislike your plans. If it makes you feel better we can definetly kill anyone you want. I just don't understand your reason. Your clan is gone after all. Besides you humans have a privilige after dying that I could only dream of. I don't understand you." He opens his mouth but decides to stay quite. He knows what I am talking about. There is a prize you have to pay for being a Black Stone. This is the only reason I allow myself to kill and destroy people. Because all of them will be luckier than me once they are dead.
