I woke up with the sunrise in an old, relatively small chamber together with a few other people. I count 15 in total. It seems I am the only one awake yet. How can they even sleep so peacefully on a bit of straw and with no privacy at all? What if they get attacked? I notice a guy laying in front of me. He has unusal blonde hair and appears brighter than the others. That is quite rare among us cursed creatures. "Done staring?" He whispers and suddenly opens his green eyes with a smirk. I'm not gonna give him the satisfaction of surprising me. "Not yet. I need to finish inspecting your handsome face." I counterattack. He chuckles and gets up. Quite tall and muscular. I like that. "I guess you're new here?" He asks. "Obviously. Tell me more about this place. And those people laying here like they got shot in the head." I order. There is no reason for me to be polite to him. "Woah slowly princess. Mind introducing yourself first? I am Tristan btw." I did not ask you for your name you arrogant bastard. Whateve. I gotta get as much information as possible. "Roxanne." I simply respond. "Now would you please answer my questions?" I follow him outside the chamber. The others keep sleeping. "That bracelet you are wearing. All of us have a white one. It marks us as the lowest rank of killers. It is a cursed object. Once you put it on for the first time it connects with your heart. Only Blast are accepted by the cursed magic. Everyone else would die in an instant. Once you rise through the ranks and kill more and more humans, the bracelet changes it's color. This way you prove that you have completed your missions." He explains while we sit down in front of a river. Now that I remember. Miya had a bracelet as well. It was black. "Most of the people you just saw are sleeping because their energy was drained. Training here is no joke. We start in the afternoon and finish in the whee hours. Afterwards you got missions to accomplish." He picks up a rock and throws it into the water. "When did you come here?" I ask. "About two months ago. Most of us do not last for longer than that usually. Missions and punishments for failing are not the only reason you are threatened here princess. None of us are trustworthy." I smile as he tries to educate me. Little does he know. He continues: "Some also die of hunger. Because their food gets stolen or whatever. You will get one meal a day here. For the rest you need to steal. This way master makes sure to only keep the strong willed." I stand up as I remember something. "Thanks for the information. I owe you one." I shout towards Tristan as I go back to the chamber.
"I greet your highness master Evia." Miya sais as she bows. "How can I help you?" She asks with a fake smile. She really hates this woman. "No need to use honorifics supreme killer Miya. We've been friends for many years now. Anyway I am calling you because of that girl you brought yesterday. Carrington, right?" Miya nods. "I trust your judgement. I am sure she will last for quite some time. However she reminds me of an old friend of us. You know what I mean, right?" The Albino asks. Of course Miya knows. She knows all too well. The woman that once made the world shiver in fear. The demon king's right hand. Sierra Helion. The person Evia fears the most. Even after she died. Miya could not help but chuckle. Roxanne has just the same aura as the demonic queen, her mother. "I understand your discomfort master but no need to worry. I will keep an eye on her." Miya reassures and bows to leave the hallway. As she approaches the door she notices a book laying on the floor. "May I take that one with me?" she asks her master. "Oh, I forgot to throw it away. that child was carrying it. Take it." Evia replies. Miya nods one more time before grabbing the book and leaving the castle.
Damn where is it? Where did I lose it? I'm going crazy because I cannot find that damned book inside the chamber. As I keep searching the other guys inside the room wake up and give me weird looks. The last time I had it was probably when I talked to that white woman. I must have lost it inside the castle while passing out. Without a second thought I run towards Tristan who is still sitting in front of the river. "I need your help." I cough. "I lost something inside the castle. You need to help me get it back quickly." I request. He raises an eyebrow before answering: "Must be quite important if you are willing to step inside the lion's cage. What will you give me if I help you?" This bastard is doing business very well... whatever the book is most important right now. "I will grant you any wish as long as you help me get inside." He smirks. "I am fine with that. Let's go then." I really hate that I need to trust him but right now I don't have another choice. I follow him to a back door. "Here are the least amount of guards. "I will distract them so you just need to make sure to sneak inside before anyone sees you. Also do not get into a fight. Master will sense it if there is blood being spilled." I nod and wait for him to approach the guards. I prowl inside the castle and disappear in the shadows. Damn, my orientation is too bad. I don't remember the exact location of the hallway. I hear noises all of a sudden. "Someone has creeped inside the castle." Godamn. What is Tristan doing? I thought he would distract them. But than again he was only helping me get inside, so there was no further deal made. I run towards a column and hear people coming my way. I am done for. Alright I did not expect to die so soon in such a "safe" place. I close my eyes as I almost accept defeat when someone abruptly truns me around and pins me against the wall. I am having a deja vu now. "Do not move" I hear a familiar female voice whisper. She hides my body with hers and turns my head to face her dark eyes. From outside it must look like Miya is having an intense and good time with someone. And it works. Once the guards see her, they instantly apologize: "I am sorry supreme killer. I did not mean to interrupt. I will accept punishment from master." he quickly bubbles and walks away. Miya releases me with an evil smirk. "Listen trophy, if you are planning on getting in here and cause trouble, make sure you don't get caught next time. You are quite a brave girl." She whispers. I simply nod in gratitude. "You are searching for this?" She states and gives me the diary. "Are you a saint?" I just ask, while taking the book. I simply hear her deep chuckle as she escorts me outside. "Be more careful in the future. I would want you to last a little longer here trophy." She smirks and disappears. I walk back the way that I came from. There is a certain someone I still owe something to. Tristan smirks once he sees me. "You survived princess?" I roll my eyes in annoyance. "Cut the crap and tell me what you want already." He blinks twice. "Let us have some fun."
