"Wake up, my sunshine."

A pair of lips are shortly pressed onto my forehead, making me duck further into my covers. A chuckle bounces off the walls in the room as I slowly flutter my eyes open. I could see Masky's exposed back while he slipped on one of his black T-shirts. Masky turns back around to face me, readjusting his shirt over his body before looking over to me. "I'll make breakfast, come down soon." Masky flashes me a smile, shortly petting my hair before leaving the room, allowing me to be alone. I let out a yawn as I stretch my arms above my head, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes as I sit straight up. This is how it has been in the past few months. Or maybe for a year. I don't know, it sure feels long. Am I happy? No. Am I miserable? No. I won't lie, Masky has been treating me like he has always treated me. Yet, I'm not happy. Ever since my attempts of ending it, he's become much more cautious. He barely allowed me to go out on my own due to multiple reasons, he locked cabinets that contained sharp objects and even went as far as to install locks on the windows on the second floor that only he could reach. Now the real question is, has he gotten his way with me? To that I say; yes. He has. I didn't struggle, I didn't complain, I just let it happen. I mean, it wasn't going to happen with anyone else, considering I'm stuck with him, so it might've as well been him to be my first. Was it enjoyable? No, but it also wasn't terrible. Yet because of that, Masky became much and much more affectionate. Every night he has this routine where he pampers me before going to bed. Not that I'm entirely complaining... I release a sigh, swinging my legs out of bed, planting my feet onto the ground. I take a moment to myself, simply staring at the ground.

I have to keep reminding myself that I'm not in a dream. This is my life and this is how it's going to go until the end of time. We had to move a couple of times to different locations due to me being the main culprit of the murder of Liu Woods. Yet, we always ended up in the same old cabin where we first started, for some illogical reason. It isn't fun living like this. It's not fun to live with the guilt of ending an innocent, young life. I push myself up from the bed, swiping a lock of hair behind my ear before slipping on my slippers and heading downstairs. As soon as I exited my room, the immediate smell of fried eggs wafted around. Masky wasn't too great of a cook, but also not too bad. He's able to do simple dishes, but when in comes to more complex culinary, he ends up messing up the dish. I slump down the stairs, dragging myself over to the dinner table before taking a seat. I patiently wait for my breakfast like every other day.

I rest my cheek on the palm of my hand, tiredly blinking as I gently tap my nails on the table with my other hand. After barely a minute of waiting, a plate of steaming hot breakfast was placed in front of me. The usual, of course, considering he barely knows how to cook anything else. Eggs with the side of some couple strips of bacon. "I'm gonna need to go and get some groceries. I'll be back soon, okay?" Masky flashed me a smile, kissing the top of my head like he usually does before leaving to wherever. I visibly frown, scooping a bit of egg into my mouth. "Okay..." I mumble submissively, swallowing my food down. Last time I complained about not being able to leave the house, not even with him supervising me, it ended up into a heated argument. Still, I was in desperate need of fresh air. As Masky slipped on his infamous yellow-ish jacket, I couldn't help but debate on whether to ask him or not. I place my fork down just before Masky turns to leave as I speak up, "I want to go with you."

Masky paused, retracting his hand from the doorknob as he turns back around to face me. "You know I can't risk that. What if someone recognized you? What if you get yourself hurt?" Masky questioned mainly himself. "I've been locked in this house for weeks. Please, at least let me step out the door." I plead. Masky purses his lips into a thin line before sighing, "okay," he finally gives in, brushing a hand through his strands of hair, "but stay close to me and don't leave my sight." he warns sternly. I feel a smile creeping up my lips as I quickly nod in understanding. Now all I need to do is finish up breakfast.
