After the news report, Tim and I were still seated in the same spot. Tim cracked a few jokes to brighten up the mood, which surprisingly worked. I was having a great time with him. It was around 9:30 PM or so when Tim's phone suddenly started buzzing. He paused his talking for a few moments to grab his phone. Once he scanned what was on his screen, his mood suddenly dropped as he frowned. I felt a bit worried at this point. "Is something up?" I ask, making Tim quickly shove his phone back into his pocket. "I have to go," He abruptly stood up from his spot. I was confused, but overall disappointed. He seemed to notice the disappointment on my face, which made him place a reassuring hand on my shoulder for a few seconds. "Sorry it's so sudden," he flashed me an apologetic smile, "but it's an emergency. I promise I'll make it up to you, okay?" He grins. I manage to smile a bit and nod. "Okay. See you tomorrow?" I ask. Tim chuckles before nodding. "Yeah, see you tomorrow." He replied before leaving the cafe. I looked out the display window, only to notice that it wasn't snowing anymore. Instead, it was pouring heavily. Yikes. Wherever Tim was going, he'd probably get drenched in the meantime. I decided to stay put in the cafe until the rain dimmed down.

I was currently in the comfort of my bed, all dried up after rushing through the rain. The rain didn't stop while I was at the cafe and they were already closing, so I had no other choice but to run back home. As usual, I couldn't sleep. It was already 2 AM or so and no avail. I have to be honest, the thought of hanging out with Tim kept me up. I just felt excited whenever I thought about hanging out with him. He's so nice and sweet, he's everything a girl would want in a guy. Thinking about him made me realize- Am I falling for this guy? No, of course not. I've only met him a few days ago, I couldn't possibly grown a liking towards him. Then again, just thinking of his smile made my heart accelerate. This is bad. I pat myself on both cheeks with my hands, telling myself, "Stop thinking about him, (Y/n)." I curled up into a fetal position, shivering underneath my covers. I had the urge to text Tim, but I had to prevent myself from doing so. I can't stay up late again. But would I be able to sleep without texting Tim at least once? I huff to myself and decide to grab my phone. Just one text. Don't go overboard. I unlock my phone and tap on Tim's number.
'Tim, you awake?'
I waited a couple seconds. One minute. Two minutes. Three minutes. I sigh and shut my phone off. He was probably already asleep. I place my phone back on my nightstand before flipping myself over on the bed, resting on my other side. He'll probably text me tomorrow. I forced my eyes shut. If I just keep my eyes closed, I'll fall asleep eventually.

A loud bang against my door made my eyes snap open and my heart race from the sudden sound. I jolt up in my bed, snapping my head towards the source of the sound. What in the hell was that? I suddenly hear low murmurs coming from the living room. I had to prevent myself from gasping. My heart started beating so loud to the point where I could hear it in my ears. Someone was in my apartment. Someone broke in. I could hear slumped footsteps drag themselves through my house. Shit, what do I do?! Should I call the police? No, not now. They could hear me. I snatch my phone into my hands just in case. I could hear the footsteps approach my room, making me quickly lay back down with my back turned towards the opening of my door. I was terrified. I tried my best to not shake. The footsteps stopped right in front of my room before I heard the door creek open. I felt my breath hitch in my throat. "They're sleeping." A male, teen-like voice hushed softly. I assume he said 'they' since he couldn't figure out what gender I was by staring at my back. "Good. Keep an eye on 'em. We'll look around." Another voice came from the living room. There was not one, but there were two of them?! I swallow silently, holding my phone close to my chest. Okay, I learned this. Stay calm, don't panic. I could call the police if I just don't move too much. I could still feel the presence of one of the intruders in my room. I heard a few odd cracking and clicking sounds, as if somebody was popping their knuckles. I flick my phone on under the covers, holding it close to my chest so the light coming from the screen wouldn't alert the male at the door. As silently as possible, I dial 9-1-1. I lowered the volume on my phone as much as possible as I wait for someone to pick up. It didn't take a second to hear a click.
