With a half eaten chips bag on my lap and a quarter empty bottle of water near my feet, I felt dead tired. Masky has been driving around for more than 2 hours, I'd assume, I wasn't really keeping track of the time. All I know is that it's already around 4 in the morning and I haven't gotten some proper shut-eye yet. It's not like I can sleep properly anyway, knowing that Masky could unsuspectingly pounce when I'm out of it. I roll the opened part of the chips bag all the way down until it's concealed from any air getting inside. I can probably eat the rest of the chips later. I glance over at Masky. He hasn't eaten nor drink anything ever since he took me from my apartment. I don't care whether he's hungry or not, but I need to stick to my plan of being nice to him so he'll let his guard down on me. I avoid looking at him as I clear my throat to gain his attention. "Do you want some?" I ask, lightly shaking the bag of chips on my lap. Masky doesn't say anything for just a few seconds before shaking his head. "No. You need it more than I do." He bluntly replies. What does he even mean by that? I don't pressure him further into it as I mumble a soft, "okay" before placing the half folded chips bag next to the side of my thigh. I rest my head on the window. My eyes feel droopy and fazed out of focus. I can't sleep. Not now. I harshly rub my eyes, trying to remove any sleep out of them. Masky's eyes darted over to me and lingered on my face for a few seconds before returning to the road. He is noticeably tired too, I mean, he's a human being as well.

"Don't worry, we're only a few minutes away," Masky states before concluding, "I think." Yeah, that's reassuring. With nimble fingers, I tapped on the car's window control panel as I forced myself to stay awake. My head dipped down occasionally from exhaustion, but I wouldn't allow myself to actually close my eyes. My eyes darted over to the time on my digital car stereo. It's only 4:05 AM, now. It felt as if time was moving so slowly. Sighing, I bend down to my feet to grab the large water bottle into my hands. After unscrewing the cap I took one or two sips before screwing the cap back on and placing the bottle back near my feet. My legs were killing me, they were aching for a good stretch. But alas, Masky probably wouldn't stop the car just so I could stretch out my body. While mindlessly looking at the time on my small stereo, I wandered off in my thoughts. If I'm correct, today should be Sunday. Would people notice that I'm gone? Probably not, Sundays are the types of days where you just stay at home and spend time with yourself only. People would surely notice me missing on Monday. I never skip a day to work, so someone would definitely take note of that. Emma would most certainly notice. The receptionist as well. And most likely Dylan would realize that I'm gone.

"What?" I hear Masky's voice question. Jumping back into reality, I quickly dart my eyes over to Masky. "W-What?" I echo his words. "What about Dylan?" Masky's eyebrows knit together as his grip on the steering wheel tightens up. Was I saying the names out loud? "N-Nothing! I w-was just..." I sputter out, trying to think of a good excuse to tell him before he gets too agitated. Masky's face churns into a scowl. Oh God, please don't be angry. "Thinking about him? Does he mean anything to you?" Masky sneers, casting a quick glance towards my cowering posture. I quickly shake my head in denial. "No, of course not! I-I was j-just wondering how he was doing. I-I was wondering how all of my friends are doing." I stammer out a small, white lie, which wasn't completely a lie. Masky seems hesitant on whether to believe my words or not, but ends up staying frustrated either way. "I can't believe I wasn't able to kill him sooner." Masky states angrily, his knuckles turning into a whiter color due to gripping the steering wheel so harsh. "K-Kill him?" I dare to ask. Masky lets out a hum, which almost sounded like an animalistic growl to me. "He's a smart one. Almost too smart for his own good. I've gotten everyone else, I just don't know why I couldn't get him." He seethed lowly. Everyone else? I was fazed and confused at first, until it clicked. All those missing people, the ones that connected with me, they went missing because of Masky. That means he's been watching me. Watching me for a lot longer than I would've thought. "Were-..." I choke back on my words. I feel scared just to ask. But I need to know. "Were you the one causing the disappearances? T-The... T-The people at my work..." I managed to choke out with little to no courage. Masky's grip around the wheel loosens up. "Of course. Who else would be behind it?" He admits. It just sounds like he's proud of it. Disgusting. "Why?" I blurt out subconsciously, probably because I was genuinely curious. Masky snorts, as if it were already obvious.
