"Ah, really?!"

I lightly leaned over the table, resting my forearms on the table to support myself up. Liu, or rather Sully, decided to pass the time by telling me stories about his adventures with his girlfriend. They were entertaining to say the least. I'm eager to hear more. "That's so nice to hear. I'm glad your girlfriend saved Whiskers, he's such a sweet cat." I comment, noticing Whiskers tilt his head up at the mentioning of his name. I lean back, giving Whiskers a quick scratch on the head as Sully releases a chuckle. "Ha, that's because he got too much attention from her." He states amusingly, resting his cheek on the palm of his hand. I hum. "She must've been a great person." I smile, giving Whiskers one last pat before retreating my hand. Sully smiled, letting out a confirming hum. I really do wish I could've met her. She sounds like an amazing person, from what Liu told me.

I suddenly hear footsteps coming from up the stairs, making me jerk my head up to that direction. Masky came walking down with his usual attire, the mask and his yellow jacket. His brown hair were sticking in multiple directions which told me that he didn't bother to fix his hair before coming down. I find myself shrink in my seat as Masky makes his way towards the table. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to bring up the question of going to the mall yet. Maybe it's best to let him wake up a little bit more since he still looks a bit in his sleepy state. We don't want to get him grumpy in the morning. Masky places a hand on my head as he shoo's Whisker off of the seat next to me before sitting down. "Good morning, princess." I felt his hand lightly ruffle my head, messing up the top of my hair. I purse my lips and pat down my messed up hair after he retracts his hand. I cast a quick glance towards Liu, asking him on whether to ask Masky yet or not with my eyes. He seems to be able to read me and lightly shakes his head. I lean back in my chair and look down to my lap, where Whiskers had decided to jump onto and take a seat. The room was quiet, except for the soft TV sound in the background. On the contrary of the TV, the tension was high. Masky and Liu were obviously not on good terms from out of nowhere. I'm surprised Liu hasn't kicked us out yet. I keep myself as far away from Masky as possible, shifting to the edge of my seat. I'm clearly uncomfortable and nervous for no actual reason. Liu decides to break the silence by clearing his throat and standing up from his spot, causing his chair to be pushed back with his movement. "Coffee?" Liu smiles, directing his offer to Masky, obviously. Masky is silent before nodding slightly with a soft, "sure".

Liu proceeds to then head over to the kitchen and make Masky's morning beverage. Ah, I see what's going on. I assume Liu is trying to get Masky into a more brighter mood before talking to him. Smart move. I keep my gaze on my lap where Whiskers is peacefully relaxing on. He has no care in the world. Good for him. I suddenly feel a hand grasp mine, making me jump from the sudden contact. Even Whiskers seemed to notice how startled I became, which made his arch his head up in alert for a couple of seconds. I shift my gaze over to my hand, realizing that Masky had lightly taken my hand in his. Okay, nothing to be worried about. I should stop being so jumpy. Masky rubs his thumb over my knuckles before asking, "Did you sleep well?" I nod as a reply to his question. There's nothing else I can really say. I'm not going to tell him that I went outside alongside Liu, he'd most definitely flip. Masky pushes his mask just above his lips and lifts my hand up to press a kiss on the back of it. I swear he sometimes uses the same charm he used to use as Tim. "That's good to hear." he utters out before letting go of my hand and pulling his mask back down again. Slightly flustered, I turn my attention back to Whiskers. In just a couple of minutes, Liu is back with a steaming cup in his hands. Yikes, I can already smell the strong scent of black coffee from here. I'm not too big on black coffee. I don't know how people can like the bitter taste of it. Liu places the cup on the table, giving it a slight shove so it slides over to Masky's hands. "Thanks." Masky showed his appreciation with a short and quick answer.
