"Anybody else starvin'?" JJ asked early the next morning.
The pogues had spent the whole day and night out on the water, racing back to the Outer Banks as they laughed and shared stories. Stories of what had happened during their time away from each other.
For starters, John B and Sarah were rescued after their boat capsized during the storm. Then it turned out John B was a fugitive and their helpers turned into captors. They escaped, but were eventually found again and made to sneak into the Cameron's vacation home where the gold was hidden.
Luckily, they were able to get out of that, too. The gold was to be transported, so John B and Sarah, with the help of their new friends, hijacked the truck from Ward and Rafe. In the process, Sarah got shot. She almost died, but John B got her to a doctor of sorts and was able to save her.
"We need to grab some sort of breakfast," JJ said.
John B pulled off to dock and Kie, Wyatt, and Sarah got off.
"We're gonna find some food," Sarah promised.
The three walked down the dock together and into what looked like an overgrown garden.
"Oh, jackpot!" Kie called shortly, holding a watermelon over her head.
Wyatt used her pocket knife to crack it open, then again on one of the halves, since there was no easy way to split it three ways.
"Holy shit," Sarah muttered as they sat on a nearby bench.
"Okay, so you really got married?" Kie asked incredulously.
"It was exactly legal but... yeah."
"Hold on, I'm a minister," Wyatt said as if she'd just remembered. "I could marry you for real."
"What? No way," Sarah looked shocked and ecstatic.
"You're not a minister," Kie nudged the girl.
"Yeah, have I never told you that?" Wyatt pulled out her wallet. "Look, I have credentials."
She showed them her license.
"What the fuck, where did you get this?" Kie asked, taking a closer look at it.
"Online. Super easy and surprisingly legal."
"You are full of surprises, Wyatt Perez."
"Okay, am I crazy, or is there definitely something going on between Kie and Pope?" Sarah asked.
"See? Not just me that thinks so," Wyatt shoved a piece of watermelon in her mouth as Kie nudged her.
