Wyatt was day drinking with JJ inside the chateau when the house phone rang. JJ reached over and answered it.

"Hello?"

Wyatt couldn't hear what was said on the other end.

"No, he's outside. This is JJ, uh, Maybank."

His expression went from neutral to solemn in a moment.

"Okay, I'll tell him. Thanks, Guff."

JJ hung up the phone and stood, telling Wyatt to, "come on."

"JJ, what happened?" Wyatt asked, following after him outside. "Who called?"

"Pope! Pope!" the boy rushed over to him by the board shack. "Just got a call from Guffy. Something happened to your pops."

"What?" Pope asked.

JJ led the way to the Twinkie and Wyatt got in the back as Kie called for John B and Sarah to join them. She saved the passenger seat for Pope since it was his dad and all.

"Did he say what happened specifically?"

"Is he okay?" Wyatt asked, Kie joining her in the back.

"He said he's fine but he didn't say what happened," JJ explained.

John B quickly got in and started the car as Sarah finally stepped into the back, JJ pulling the door closed behind her.

John B raced to Heyward's store, his poor son worrying and expecting the worst the whole way.

Twenty minutes later, the pogues piled out of the Twinkie. Pops was fine, but he had a gnarly gash on his temple.

"Does he need stitches?" Wyatt asked.

Sarah, who was acting as medic, shook her head and placed a bandaid over the wound. "Let me know if I'm hurting you, okay?"

"Oh, you're doing just fine," Heyward told her.

Wyatt, in an attempt to lighten the mood, motioned to the bandage on her own forehead. "Look, now we're matching."

He chuckled in response.

"Pop, what happened?" Pope asked his dad.

"Oh, I should've known better," he started to explain. "He came in just as I was about to lock up. Caught me by surprise. Once he had me down, he put his knee in my chest, and he asked me about that– that– that key from that– that drawing you showed me. And in case you're wondering, I ain't tell him nothing. Now, did you track it down?"

Pope pursed his lips and pulled the key they'd been looking for out of his back pocket, handing it to Heyward. He'd found it just yesterday, and there was an inscription on it. 'The path to the tomb begins in the island room.'
