The pogues were on their way to Sarah Cameron's house, because apparently, that's where the island room was.
"Guy, listen to this," Pope started, reading from his copy of Denmark's diary. "The diary says the cross holds the most holy relic in all of Christendom, the Garment of the Savior."
"So wait, he's saying there's a holy garment inside the cross?" Kie clarified.
"Yeah. It says the garment is capable of healing the sick from any malady."
Wyatt scrunched her nose in confusion. "What's a malady?"
"Like a disease or sickness," Pope explained.
"Mmm, yeah," JJ nodded. "'If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.'"
The pogues gave him various disbelieving looks.
"What? I went to Sunday school."
"Sure," Kie nodded.
"Well, that explains why Limbrey would want the cross so bad," Pope said.
"To heal whatever's wrong with her," Wyatt muttered.
"What else does it say?" Kie asked.
Pope started to read. "'Many feel that we have sinned to steal such a sacred thing, and God will strike His vengeance on us.'"
"Thing is, God did have His vengeance."
"He sent a hurricane to sink the ship. Only Denmark survived."
The drive was mostly silent for the rest of the trip until they pulled up to Tannyhill.
"This place still freaks me out," John B muttered as they walked inside.
"Yeah, same," JJ said.
Sarah led them up the stairs and opened a door at the end of the hall, saying, "Pope, look."
"Woah, you've got to be kidding me," Wyatt heard Pope say as she herself stepped into the room.
The room looked like a tornado had blown through. The wallpaper was stripped off the walls to exhibit the paintings underneath.
"It's the island room," Sarah continued. "It's been here this whole time."
The pogues each searched for meaning in the walls.
"Yo, this is a map of the whole island," John B announced.
"Yeah," JJ said, pointing to a corner of the wall. "John B, I think you're right because this is Rixon's right here. And then there's the lighthouse."
