Wyatt had two jobs to get to after she and JJ visited John B in jail. The first was just an oil change and a power steering hose adjustment, which took several hours.

The only reason it took so long was because she hit her head on the bottom of the car when the pump shot out and cut her face open. Now she was sporting a brand new gash on her forehead that bled all the way down to her chin. Wyatt thought it was amazing how much a face could bleed.

It throbbed, but it wasn't excruciatingly painful. For that, she was thankful.

The second job she had to get to canceled their appointment, mentioning it was because she was a friend of a convicted murderer. They were a first time customer so while Wyatt was bummed, she didn't take it to heart.

Wyatt arrived back at the chateau after showering and changing at her house. The bloody shirt wasn't a good look. She had hoped she'd stop bleeding during the shower but no dice. So she grabbed one of her dad's ratty old shirts that she hoped was clean and held it against her forehead.

Back at the chateau, which was empty, Wyatt called JJ but didn't get a response. Then she called Kie. Pope answered her phone, which Wyatt thought was a little strange but weirder things had happened.

"Hey, what's going on? JJ didn't answer his phone."

Pope sighed through the speaker. "JJ texted Kie SOS so we're on our way to get him."

Wyatt was immediately worried. "Okay, be careful and let me know when you have him."

"I will." They said their quick goodbyes and Pope hung up.

Wyatt kept telling herself not to fall asleep while she waited. That because of the blood loss, she might not wake up.

This wasn't the worst thing she could think of to happen, but she would be an asshole to die in her friend's house while he was in jail.

So she cleaned. The chateau hadn't had a good cleaning in a while, and while Wyatt was starting to feel lightheaded, she figured that was all the more reason not to lay down. Maybe she should've called 911. Maybe she should've gone to the hospital. But she could worry about that later.

Right now, JJ was working on getting John B out of jail. They didn't need to worry about her injuries in the meantime.

She waited up until almost sunrise for a response back from Pope. He texted that they were on their way, and soon enough, the three of them walked through the door.

Wyatt rushed over to hug JJ the second she saw him, muttering an, "I'm glad you're okay," into his chest.

Anyone else might've said, "that was so stupid," but Wyatt knew that was not what he needed to hear.
