Chapter 5 :Trying To Understand

Rain's POV

I sliced up the elk with my swords. I then gutted it and drained the blood to, I warped back to a table I set up next to the campfire in the middle of the place. I thought it my head to check what I need, okay got meat and plants for the werewolves and foxes, some dead dead body parts I stole from a morgue for the ghouls, and animal blood for the vampires and spices for their meat.

I nodded and began to prep everything. A few minutes later I cook some meat just in case anyone wants some like that. I set the table as a buffet table, I then made plates out of metal.

I mindlinked Ariel,"Done"

She linked back,"Ok, calling the kids."

There was one person watching me the entire time I was setting up, it was the redhead girl from before. I told her,"I know your watching me."

She yelped in surprised as I turned around, the girl said,"How do you even see? Your eyes are covered."

I said,"Shadows, I got powers duh."

She looked confused, the other children came to the table. They ran up to the table and started grabbing everything. The little ones thanked me for the food, some of them just grab some things and walked away. Most stayed around talking happily, food is joy after all.

Cole and Ariel walked up to me and I said,"Yo."

Cole crossed his arms and said,"Wow I'm surprised, you actually did it well."

Ariel poked him and said,"Stop talking, Rain you did great."

"You do know I am an Alpha right? I am in charge with feeding my pack and training them."I said while putting out a hand.

"Training?"The red head girl said with her head tillted. Right, I forgot about her.

Cole and Ariel looked at her and I said,"Little pup, if you hate me why are you following me?"

She frowned and said,"I don't hate you, I just don't like the fact your wearing masks."

I took off my face mask and my blindfold and warped them away. I bent down at looked directly at her, I said,"There happy?"

Ariel said reminding,"You aren't allowed to take off your mask when your on the job, Rain."

"Oh, bite me."I said, the girl look puzzled, she said,"You look better like this."

"Good to know,"I said and then I said to Cole and Ariel,"The kids mostly left now, wana eat the rest of the food with me."

Cole scoffed,"Hell yeah."

Ariel told the girl softly,"You can go play with your friends now, bedtime will be at 10."

As the girl walked away, she mumbled to herself,"We slept earlier when Scara was here."

I poured some blood into a cup and grew my fangs and drank from the cup. While Cole took some raw meant and Ariel ate some fish.

"Hey what's the file on the redhead about?"I asked Ariel.

"Uhh,"She took out a binder and said,"Jolly, has the artificial power that can control the polarity of objects. Was rescued out of a lab down in the barrens. Her powers can get out of control when she feels very emotional, also her body gets dehydrated a lot so give water."

I took a strip of meat and said,"Huh, ok."

"Why?"Ariel asked.

I said as I took a bite,"Nothing, just curious."

Cole said suddenly,"Since there's nothing else, I'm gonna go train, be back in a bit."

When he left, I looked at Ariel and frowned,"You never told me why Cole really didn't want this job?"
