Chapter 20 : Vix's Past

Rain's POV

I was in Cole's apartment with Cole and Lynx. Those two were sitting on the ripped up couch, listening as I ranted a bit about Vix.

I finished by saying,"Why can't she talk with me? I don't understand."

I turned to face both of them breathing heavily, Cole looked down and thought about it for a sec. 

"Well, she seems like she wants some space, even you don't know the reason why, I think you should respect that."He said.

Lynx added,"I'm sure she'll come around to speak with you eventually, I know her she'll probally get over whatever she's mad at."

"Yeah but-"I started to cough up blood again, common really? I didn't even use my powers in that fight. I lean against the wall as I started to vomit up some blood, Lynx went over to be and kept patting my back and Cole gave me my medicine. I groaned as I slid to the ground coughing, they both looked at me with concern.

I said while waving my hand,"Sorry about your floor and relax, I'm fine, just give me some of your blood though, I'm hungry."

Lynx knelt down and held out his wrist and I sank my fangs into his wrist. His blood tasted better than Cole's. Lynx said,"How... How long do you have left?"

I finished drinking and licked the wound, I casually replied,"About a month left."

Cole yelled,"Why don't you want to live longer!?! I don't understand how you could continue using your powers know that is what's killing you!"

I forced myself up and stared him in the eye,"I already made up my mind Cole, you can't change it."

Lynx on the floor said quietly while staring at the wall,"I lied, you should make up with Vix as quickly as possible, every second counts."

 I growled at both of them, frustrated at both of them. I then took a deep breath and sighed,"It's better if she's mad at me, I should just break it off as it is. I don't want-"

Cole pinned me against the wall and growled,"We are going to Vix's right now."

We all heard the door opened and we all turned to the door, Lexa and Ariel came inside. Lexa frowned while looking at us, she said,"Is now not a good time?"

Cole said,"No, no it's fine, we were just leaving." He opened up a shadow portal besides us.

As Lynx went through I asked,"What happened to you two?"

I noticed that both their clothes were singed a bit and they were some cuts and bruises on their bodies. Lex sprouted her wings and checked for damage and said,"I'll tell you later, once your done with whatever this is."

Cole pointed and said,"I am really concerned about that but we need to sort this out."

Ariel waved softly and said in a small voice,"Bye."

Cole waved and grabbed me and jumped through the portal

We came out of the portal directly inside of Vixen's house. Vix was at the doorway frozen in shock. She yelped,"What are you guys doing here?!?"

Lynx said,"Yo, we need to talk."

Vix was dressed to go somewhere, she had her brown and gray hair tied up in a pony tail and had her black cloth mask on. She was about to put on her cloak over her gray t shirt, she had her belt on with various magic stuff on it. And a brown satchel slung across her shoulder and was wearing winter pants and black combat boots.

She glared and said,"We have nothing to talk about, look I need to go somewhere-"

Cole warped behind her and warped her on a couch seat. Lynx sat down at the kitchen tabled and Cole warped himself on the floor, leaning against the couch. I sat on the other one nervously.

Cole looked up at her and said,"What happened to your hand?"

Vix said,"Nothing."

We sat there in silence for a few moments, Lynx tapped my shoulder and I said,"So... uhh did I do something?? If I did I am very sorry for it-"

She held up her hand and sighed, leaning back on the couch chair,"You didn't do anything... I shouldn't have done that... Look, I'm the one who should be sorry. The reason I did it.. It's complicated."

Cole took her hand and said,"We're hear for you okay?"

He paused then revised his sentence,"Me and Rain are here for you."

"Hey!!"Lynx protested,"I care about Vix to some extent!!"

Vix laughed a bit and then looked at all of us. I said slowly,"Please, can you tell us what happened?"

Vix pulled down her mask and sighed, she hesitated for a moment but then she said reluctantly,"I was just over reacting to be honest but basically I got a letter for my brother's birthday."

I gasped,"Wait you had a brother? How come you never motioned him?"

She said,"I never needed to I guess. Look, it's not like we ended off on bad terms or anything but this birthday is counting as his official coronation as.. The witch king."

We all looked shocked as she tried to hide in embarrassment.

Lynx was trying to hold back his laughter, he said,"Wait so that means your a princess?"

She turned red and yelled,"Die!!"She threw her knife which Lynx caught. I couldn't help but giggle a bit. 

Cole looked confused, he said,"Sorry but I'm not really familiar with other continents, the witch kingdom is on the vampire continent right?"  

She nodded and said,"Yeah, it's like right smack in the middle of it, the witches are actually one some pretty friendly terms with vamps though. The churches are the problem. Ah!!! The political stuff is way to complicated to explain. Anyway I just have the usual inferiority complex with my younger brother."

Vix crossed her legs and continued,"You know, like cuz he had magic, like true magic, the one where you could just command nature with you own power, spellcasting. Not like me, I have to rely on other things to perform magic like blood, runes, and other things."

She jumped and said,"It's not like I can't do anything by myself!! I excelled at every other requirement to be a witch, alchemy, transmutations, seals and stuff."

She quietly said,"But even with all that, I wasn't enough in the eyes of the people becuase I had no magic."

Vix looked saddened, I got up and imdeatly jumped on the chair and hugged her. She yelped in surprise, Lynx and Cole got up to hug her too. We then had a nice long group hug, she was squirming trying to break free.

She yelled out, burning red,"Common guys, get off!!"

Cole and Lynx got off but I swiftly put myself under her, making her sit on my lap. She gave in and covered her face as she said,"I decided to step down as queen to stop all that politcal crap, so now my brother is goning to be king. I honestly didn't want it in the first place but my brother is alway begging me to come back and take it becuase he felt guilty."

I wrapped my arms around her waist and thought for a moment before saying,"How bout we go with you? Because if your feeling down about being back there, I could cheer you up. You know, well be there for moral support."

She protested,"No way!! Even if I wanted it your a hybrid and Lynx is a werewolf!! That's like two of the things they hate!!"

Cole scoffed,"Kinda hurt you didn't metion me but comon what's the worse that could happen? Besides, it'll be good character development for you."

"But-"Lynx intrupted raising his hand,"I'm gonna go becuase Vix doesen't want me tooo!!"

Vix want to say something but sighed in defeat,"Fine, but you have to stay close to me okay?"

She leaned back and kissed me on the cheek. I felt my face burning up, Cole was smirking. I groaned,"Whatever, okay well then let's go!!"
