Chapter 40 : No

Rain's POV

I was back at my pack again, I smiled as I felt the snow fall on my skin. I looked around to see my little brother by myside, trying to take my hand to pull me away, trying to show me something. I saw my parents in the distance calling to us. I looked around the snowy forest to see my small pack glistening with life, I could here the distance howl of wolves, the laughter of children, and the busy work of my pack, my family. I looked at an icicle on the branch on a tree and saw my child self with sparkling black eyes filled with curiosity.

There was this tugging sensation, like something was wrong. Memories began flashing in my head, memories of a certain person, I think this person was named Vix. I staggered and fell ontop of the snow, I then looked down to see me in my adult self, with my cloak on and my swords strapped to my back. I was in a black void, drifting in an abyss, wait no this wasn't and abyss these are shadows aren't they? 

I heard muffled callings, to mudded to hear their voices clearly but I went to the sound of their voices, I then was pulled to a battle field filled with fight and death. I winched as I as I stepped back, do I want to return to something as painful as that? Is that something-

I felt someone grabbed my hand and I looked faced to face with Vixen, my wife, my lover, my friend. I heard her yell as clear as day, she yelled,"Wake up Rain!!"

I groaned as I opened my eyes to see a hovering Cole, Lynx, and Vix. Vix was holding my hand so tightly that her knuckles turned white. She had tears in her eyes. Oh. I made her cry again.

Cole said in disbeilf,"How, what? Man Rain you really are something-"

Vix then hugged me tightly, she said nothing as she embraced me, I hugged her back softly. I closed my eyes as I smiled a little. Trying to cherish this moment and wishing it would last life times. I pulled the hair out of her face as she was still sniffling, I wiped her tears away as I softly put her forehead to mine.

She said,"Don't scare me like that."

I said,"I'm sorry, Vix."

I looked down as I realized I was completely naked, I said,"Errr, what-"

Cole and Lynx then suddenly hugged me too, not caring that I was completely bare, Cole said,"Your body rematerialize from pure shadow, ofcourse you wouldn't have your clothes back."

Lynx then gave me a set of clothes, I thanked him as he said,"I grabbed a set while you slept."

He grabbed my shoulder and smiled,"We're glad to have you back Rain."

I smiled a little and laughed a bit, we all we're smiling and had a joyful moment. I finished putting on my clothes and Vix collapsed in my lap, Cole said,"Yeah she's done a lot. More than any human should ever do, I'll thank her later when she wakes up."

Lynx said to me,"What about you? I don't know but I was hoping that whole revival thing with the shadow might have reset your death counter? I know it's a long shot but do you feel any different?"

I looked down and analyzed my body, I did feel replenished, I felt stronger than I've felt in a while. I felt a little bit of hope. I chuckled a little,"Maybe-"

Pierced

At first I felt nothing, then a stabbing pain in chest, I touched my chest as blood came pouring out, everything became muffled as I started breathing heavy with shock, I collapsed on the ground gasping for breath. I looked over to see Vix's peaceful sleeping face, oh no. I got blood on her beautiful face.

Both Cole and Lynx was yelling at me but couldn't hear them. But I felt kind of annoyed, I still thought they were too loud. I then saw Vix got up and thought to myself, look what you did, now Vix woke up. She had tears forming in her eyes as she rummaged her belt frantically and pour a vail of pink liquid on my wound, I felt my senses becoming clearer as my hearing came back. Vix hugged me and said,"Oh, my gods, Rain!!"
