Chapter 2 : A Lie

Lynx's POV

Crayia used her power to flash through me, I punched the ground to send a shockwave breaking up the ground around me. She flashed again to balance herself, with the yellow dust it leave behind I could tell she was to the left of me and I countered with a combo of blows to her stomach. She grumbled and flashed above me and to out her dagger to stab me but I punch the air sending vibrations to make her fly back. She flashed again to land on the floor.

Cryaia was wearing the ember googles Rain made for her, her hair was now a nice light brown a bit messy and her eyes of blue were now sparkling. She was wearing a plain shirt and pants. She looked better than went we first found her, she gained a lot more confidence too.

Were where on a separate hillside for training in the cavern. The crystals that light up the large cave grew brighter here.

I said,"To experienced fighter's your power is predicable, try not to rely on it that much."

Crayia nodded and grumbled,"Of course I would lose to a beta, what did you expect?"

Em carefully dodged everyone and made her way to Crayia. Em was still dressed as her usally self, she had her dark brown hair covering one of her eyes of grey and was wearing a wooly sweater and loose pants.

She her hand to Crayia's stomach to heal her, she whispered,"No, if you practice more you could beat him. I did."

Crayia said,"Whaaat!?!" Everyone turned to look at her, the rest who were fighting each other stopped to come look.

Em blushed with all the attention on her, she used her hair to cover half her face and said,"Uhhhh."

I said,"This is a good idea, Em fight me. I want you to see how a healer can be a better fighter than all of you."

Everyone gathered around our platform, I minlinked Em,"Sorry about it, I'll make you a sandwich later?"

She glared at me and said,"I am going to destroy you."

There were a lot of ooohs from the crowd.

I chuckled nervously, a person said,"Three, Two, One, Go!!"

I threw blast after blast, I had to end the battle quickly or else-

She put her hands on the ground and vines grew all around be to attack me, I jumped and air punched the ground to make me go higher. Em is not a normal healer, her powers allow her to manipulate living cells. She grew vines beneath her feet to get close to me, I can't let her touch me. I cut up the vines near me and threw them at her, she touched them and turned them into dust. I used the distraction to punch a portal to the ground.

I came out and ran to Em who dropped to the ground to. I dogged all the plants that came to attack me. She realized that wasn't going to work, she touched the ground to turn the soil into sand. I wobbled a bit, crap. She lunged to me, I threw a desperate air punch, she dogged it and touched my left arm and turned it to dust. I sighed and gave up. She touched the ground to returned everything to the way it was.

Cryaia and a few other said,"Your arm!!"

"Yeah it's fine,"I said, Em walked to me and touched the place were my arm was missing, and grew my limb back. They were some gasps, some didn't know to full extent of her powers.

"See? Before she couldn't touch anything without crumbling to dust but now she is a seasoned warrior and a skilled healer." I said proudly, I well I did train her.

Em blushed and hid behind her hair. Cryaia growled at me and hugged her tightly and mouth the words"Mine." I chuckled nervously while pretending not to see that.
