Chapter 13 : Starting Conflict

Lynx's POV

The first thing I noticed was the smell, I gagged and Ash gave me a mask. I looked around to see death all around us.

We were on the cliff face looking down you could see fires, bodies, destroyed camps. It looks like a battlefield. 

"Yeah,"Ash said while peering down,"Apparently my land was extremely precious becuase it was unaffected by the explosion, probably becuase of the barrier. Same with other hidden packs of the north, so naturally instead of talking things out they fought and destroyed it process. I tried to fight them off but that's impossible."

I frowned as I noticed a familiar glint on the bottom. I jumped down the forty foot tall cliff, Vix called out,"Where are you going."

I free falled for a few seconds and then punched the air bellow me to send vibrations to slow my fall. I ran up to a hill top, jumping over bodies and then gasped in horror.

A skeleton was laying down next to the tree with a scythe in their hand, surround it was the skeletal remains of animals laying lifeless. The scythe stood at a few feet tall, a black rod with some gripped tape on it connected a curves shining black blade on one side and a small like axe on the other side. I touch the shadow stone scythe as a tear ran through my cheek. 

I heard a warp behind me and Ash said,"Somone you know?"

I wiped away my tear, this isn't my Cole,"Yeah."

Ash walked up to the skeleton and crouched down,"Cool weapon, I know this is kinda rude of me but-"

I waved,"Yeah, yeah you can take it."

Ash took the black scythe out of the skeleton's hands and she moved it around slowly. She then strapped to her back in middle of her dual wielding swords.

Vix said,"Where's the crystal?"

Ash said,"Well I thought you would know."

She warped all of us to the barrier, a few feet away from it was a stone platform covered in foilage,  runes and other things were engraved on the stone. Various parts glowed blue but in the middle were dozens of small purple crystals wedged on the ground.

Vix walked to it and crouched down to examine it,"Yeah this is what I need, but Ash are you sure? If I take some the barrier will be destroyed."

She shrugged and said,"This place is basically a graveyard anyway."

I noticed her hands were shaky and she was sweating a bit. I asked,"Are you ok? Do you need some blood? I can give if you want."

Vix began taking out the crystals one by one, only giving a small glance to Ash. Ash gave a small smile,"Yeah some blood would be good."

I began to roll up my sleeve but Ash lunged to my shoulder and sank her fangs in my neck. I groaned as she aggressively drank my blood. Her hair tickles, I glance at her as she sucked my blood she looked so distant with her red and yellow hybrid eyes.

She finished and licked my wound to heal it, something vampires can do. I walked back and began swinging my arm, I said,"Jeeze how long was it since you last drank?"

She wiped my blood off her mouth and said quietly,"Not that long ago but what can I say? I prefer real blood instead of animals." 

She gave me a smirk but I can still her handshaking.

Before I could say anything Vix said,"Done!! Now all I need is an actually lab, to make the drug."

I thought in my head and said,"Yeah I could think of a place."
