☆ 3rd person POV ☆

Mei pulled up her trusty goggles from her eyes to her forehead. She lightly put down her screwdriver on her wooden table. She picked up the small gadget and carefully observed it while it rested in her pink paw. She tested it to make sure it works as intended. It was successful, so she cheered to herself, wagging her tail.

' I should put this up. ', She suggested, padding over to her computer.
Quickly, Mei logged into her account, opening up her own website. She opened an application and made a profile for the gadget. She soon published it and soon waited for it to be bought.

- Meanwhile -

It was another busy day at work for North. Paperwork upon paperwork that need to be done by a fast approaching deadline. It wasn't easy being the CEO of a big company, but hey, it definitely pays well.

He was just scrolling through the Internet, quickly distracting himself for a small moment from his work. Then, he spots these neat gadgets that were up for sale. They were quite interesting to him, catching his eye. He clicked on them, which brought him to the website. He quickly purchased a couple, waiting for their arrival.

- Timeskip -

After about a week, his ordered gadgets arrived. He observed them carefully and tested out their functions. North was surprised of how well they worked.

Out of his on kindness, he decided to write and send the creator a positive email about the products he received. That started friendly online conversation between them. Soon, he decided to email her on a job offer.

Mei fiddled with smaller contraptions that simply appeared as gadget parts to her. She smiled as she observed them spin, click and blink different colors with her jovial, light blue gaze. Her computer had a idle screen of her background, just humming as ambiance. Then, it switched, alerting her about the notification she had received.

She took her eyes off of her contraption and spun around, gliding over to the computer. She sat comfortably in her chair, smushing her body into it. She logged in and checked the notification. She gasped out loud at what she saw.

She immediately agreed to the terms and signed the work contract. She was excited for this new change of pace. She was given a new, bigger office. Parts were shipped to her by her new co-workers. She was so ecstatic to see so many new faces and hear so many voices.

Overtime over a year, more and more empty cardboard coffee cups piled in her office, on the floor, on shelves and on her desk. Her light blue eyes had the accessories of dark bags, contrasting her bright, white fur. However, her production level was off the charts. However, North quickly noticed her decline. As her recent boss, he needed to assure the health of his workers.

North slowly padded towards Mei's office, being light on his navy blue paws. He knocked on the door before entering. However, he wasn't met with the most pleasant of things.

Mei was slumped over on her desk like a limp corpse. North's dark purple eyes widen and he goes over to her. The first thing he spots is the pills. He grabbed the bottle and observed it. It was caffeine tablets of the one of the highest doses.

He looked back over to her and noticed she didn't look well. He felt her neck, checking for a pulse. It was barely even there. This sent him in a panic.

" Wake up! ", He barked, shifting her, back and forth.
After not responding to his efforts, he switched to the only solution. He moved her to his back, sturdily.
' Don't worry, Mei. ', He told her, in his mind.

In a short period of time, he appeared at the hospital. The nurses and doctors were startled by his sudden arrival, however they took Mei into quick care. North was so nervous, his breath heavy.
' Please be ok, Mei. I need you to be ok. You just can't be gone. I didn't get to feel you how I feel. ', He pleaded, shifting on his paws.

Mei blinked her eyes open, waking up to the beep of a heart monitor. She groaned, her head heavy and drowsy. Her gaze moved over the the left, where she noticed North. He was sitting in one of the visitor chairs, reading a book, occasionally moving up his glasses to his eyes.

Once he noticed her eyes were open, he bounded over to her.
" How are you feeling? ", He asked.
" Dizzy. ", She stated.
" Well, I'm glad you're alright. ", He told her.

Soon, they both left. Mei returning to her office. She was prohibited from using anymore of her caffeine tablets. However, coffee was still supplied by the building for the workers.

As another year passed, Mei realized her feelings for her boss. He was just so kind, even when he was critical, he made sure he was thoughtful about he decisions. He wanted from everyone to prevail, especially Mei. He was busy, but he made time for smaller matters, unlike other terrible boss that only cared about their profits and products.

She had decided to confess to him on a late night. The star twinkled at her, through the windows. The dark purple and indigo sky looked like his beautiful eyes. She flushed, visualizing him in her mind.

She carefully slipped into his office. She was met with the room only being lit by a laptop screen. She was soft on her paws as she went over to his desk. Paperwork piled his desk, about covering his view. His laptop was on a document, flashing as it was in the middle of a sentence, inside a word.

She looked over to him, to observe his sleeping form. It seemed as he fell asleep as he was writing. It was so cute.

Mei leaned over to him and placed a small blanket upon his shoulders. She softly planted a kiss upon his forehead.
" I love you. ", She whispered into his ear.
