☆ 3rd Person POV ☆

Liekki carefully slipped into the quiet library. They gave a side glance at the darker clouds outside, however they didn't pay too much attention to it currently.

There weren't many pokémon in the library, reserving that calm atmosphere. A fire crackled calmly from a screen, as a real fireplace would be a bit unsafe. A quiet, yet safe feeling drifted all around into the library.

Liekki looked around at all the various books and a smile appeared upon yellow-orange furred face. Their fluffy tail shifted back and forth in happiness. They absolutely loved to read. They were excited to see the new novels the library had to offer them.

They padded slowly over the soft pale beige carpet. The shelves were cluttered with books and novels of many genres. The dark wood outlined the variation of colors within the spines of novels.

Their dark blue eyes scanned around. They drifted over to the poetry section, one of their favorite genres. There were books that were filled with compilations of writing.

Liekki felt a dash adventurous, so they carefully slipped out a couple of novels that they've haven't heard from before. A small pile rested steadily in their yellow-orange paws. With the books, they carefully relocated to one of the pale wooden tables.

The tower of pages sat next to them as they sat down in one of the chairs. They brought their leather pouch bag to eye level with their heavy, navy blue gaze. They shifted through the pockets and pulled out some reading glasses. The lenses were rough and smooth. The color was of dull gold, shiny but not enough to stand out to the naked eye.

They opened the sides and slipped the glasses onto their face. The glasses layed eventually upon Liekki's sturdy and soft snout, enhancing their vision. They grabbed one of the novels and began to inverse themselves in the magic of the words.

- Timeskip -

About two hours pass, before Liekki raised their head back upwards. They yawn, revealing their sharp fangs. They stretch, pulling their muscles to relax them. Liekki grabs the finished novel and places it back upon the dark wood shelf. They slipped their glasses back inside their pouch. After returning, grabbing the rest of the novels, they drift over to the librarian's desk.

They pulled out their library check out card and handed it to the librarian. Swiftly, the librarian checks out all of Liekki's poetry, returning the books and card to them. Carefully, Liekki places the books in their leather pouch, making it a bit heavy upon their soft, furred side.

The Shiny Flareon glides over back to the entrance, but pauses at the door. They heard the tapping of rain on the door and outside. They sighed, frustrated. They weren't the biggest fan of rain.
' How am I going to get these books home without ruining them with water? ', They thought, glancing at the pouch with a concerned expression.

" May I be of assistance? ", A voice asked, in a friendly and soft tone.
Liekki looked towards the voice and spotted an Espeon close to them. Her purple eyes had a gentle gaze and a leather jacket rested upon their shoulders, draping down only to two-thirds on the legs. She held a folded umbrella in their paw.
" I hear it's raining and I observe that you aren't too fond about that. I could share my umbrella, I don't mind too much. ", She went on.
" Thank you, you are so kind. I will accept your offer. ", Liekki accepted, with lots of gratitude.

After the door was opened, both eeveelutions slipped outside, the door closing gently behind them. The Espeon opened their umbrella above both of their heads. The umbrella was clear with Sakura flowers decorating it. Easily, the raindrops could be seen, confirming that it was shielding the Pokémon from the falling rain.

" Pardon, but I would like your name. ", Liekki asked, politely.
" My apologies, My name is Marici. What's yours? ", Marici introduced.
" My name is Liekki, pleasure to meet you, Marici. ", Liekki stated, smiling at the Espeon, kindly.

" Now, where to? ", Marici prompted, gazing upon both directions of the sidewalk.
" I take the bus to get home. I believe the nearest bus stop is that way. ", Liekki replied, pointing to the left.
" Alright, lead the way. ", Marici gestured, tightly grabbing onto the umbrella.

After a small stroll with speckles of small talk, the two arrived at the bus stop. Marici gently shook out her umbrella, flicking raindrops towards the damp sidewalk. Afterwards, they sat on the bench next to Liekki.
" Do you use the bus as well? ", The Shiny Flareon questioned, tilting their head to the side.
" No, I live not too far from here. ", Marici replied, honestly.
" Not to be rude, but why are you staying with me when you could be on your way home? ", Liekki asked, giving her a confused look.
" Honestly, I enjoy your company. I would like to make sure your bus arrives. ", Marici answered, being quite transparent about it.
" Thanks. ", Liekki stated, smiling.

After rain filled moments pass, the bus rolls up to the bus stop. Liekki raising from their seat, padding closer to the bus. However, just before the first step, they turn around to face Marici.
" It was nice meeting you. I hope we meet once again soon. ", They told them.
" Yes, I wait patiently for our second visit. ", She nodded.

Liekki grinned and expressed their last goodbyes before getting onto the bus. Marici watched as the bus glided upon the asphalt road. They waited until the vehicle was out of sight, blurred by the rain. She opened back their umbrella and walked back upon the sidewalk.

Before returning home, Marici decided to stop at her favorite local coffee shop. They opened the door, inhaling the intoxicating wafts of caffeinated brew.
' I really hope see them again. I can't wait to get to know them more. ', She thought, feeling a faint warm feeling in their chest.

Here, have this oneshot. This is heavily inspired by the dark academia aesthetic. I hope I set the right tone of these idea! :)
