Devansh's phone started ringing. He frowned at the contact before swiping on the screen to accept it. "H-Hello...!" "Hello ! Why did you call? I told you earlier not to disturb me today." "S-Sir, Sorry to d-disturb y-you but a problem occurred." Man from the other side of the phone stammered. "What the fuck do you mean by that ?" He stood up with a little rage. "Sir, actually the guard whom you had asked for the security of your house is dead. We found his dead body on a secluded highway. His vehicle and uniform were missing." "What ? How?" Devansh spat. "S-Sir, I believe it must be our enemies. They had threatened us to not send any guard. So I gue-"Devansh cut him off. "SHUT UP!How could you be so careless? You're dead, you stupid." He growled with immense anger. "S-Sir..S-orr-y" the man cried. Devansh ignored his irritating voice and threw his phone back in his pocket.
"Baby..! Daddy is extremely sorry for his behaviour but we will have to leave. He have an emergency." He picked Sitara who instantly whined loudly as she dropped her ice-cream. Devansh's heart clenched tight, imaging Kaira around his enemy. He held Sitara closer to his chest and drove to the house at high speed, making sure to not scare his baby, Tara.
"LEAVE ME, YOU BASTARD." Kaira shouted on top of her lungs when the lustful guard held her tightly. Every inch of Kaira's body shook with disgust.
"Not today, sweetheart. Not today." He smirked. Kaira punched on his nose and scratched his face. "Oww..!" He yelped. "You, bitch!" Kaira didn't listen to him and rushed to a room closer to her. She had almost closed the door but as you know, luck could not always be there for you. The guard shoved the door open before she could lock it. Unfortunately, he was inside the room then.
Kaira's brain stopped working, seeing him inside the same room as her. Her breath became uneven. Her hand flew to her stomach, in stress.
The guard smirked looking at her from head to toe. He understood she was nervous and stressed. She was sweating even if the weather was cool. He liked his impact on her. He bit his bottom lip, admiring her features with his cunning gaze.
Kaira tried to run past him but he was fast enough to hold her. "Not so easily!" He laughed. Kaira did not like his laugh. It was as if a monster was laughing. Kaira started praying internally asking God to show her a way to escape this monster. In the meantime, she was thrown onto the bed. She whimpered in pain when a sharp ache appeared on her back.
In spite of getting hurt, her hand never left her stomach.
"Please don't do anything. Please. I request." She felt her energy getting drained. Her vision was getting slightly blurred. With that foggy vision, she could realise that he was hovering over her. She opened her mouth to speak but no words came out, as if someone took away her vocal cords.
She closed her eyes letting her tears slip out, her heart and brain never halted their prayers.
Now God can not be very cruel, right?
A loud bang was heard in the room.
With a loud painful scream, the heaviness vanished over her.
"How dare you bastard ?" A smile made its way on her lips hearing the familiar voice. She tried to look at her person but her vision did not mercy on her; they turned pitch black.
On the other hand, Devansh kept punching the guard's face continuously until his nose was completely bloody. His bloody spits were sliding out of his mouth. Devansh grabbed him by his collar and raised him but the man could not make it as he had a bullet in his leg. He cried,"L-Leave me."
"Leave you, huh? Why ? I had warned you to not even lay a single finger on my family. You dared to touch my family despite my warning. HOW DARE YOU?" Roaring like a lion, he gave a very hard punch on his face. The man fainted there, on the spot.
He ordered his guards to take him away from his eyes. He also asked one of the guards to plan a tight security.
The guards hurriedly did their work and left.
Devansh's dark rage filled eyes fell on the senseless figure on the bed. They suddenly converted into soft ones. His eyes were then filled with sorrow, worry and regret. Sorrow about what just happened with her. Worried about her condition. And regret of not being more careful.
He walked closer to her, checked for any scratches or harm but found none. He was somewhat relieved about the fact that he reached before any worst situation.
As soon as his car entered the parking lot, without any delay he went inside with Tara. He locked Tara in a room telling her that her daddy will be back really soon and she needs to be a good girl for daddy and stay in this room, silently.
To become a good girl, she followed his words like an obedient kid and played with her colours in her room.
Devansh clenched his jaw trying to control the boiling anger in him. He took a deep breath and called a doctor.
He checked on Tara and found her asleep on the rag on the floor. He sighed and carried her to the bed. Tucking her in her bed, he left the room.
His mind was really stressed from all these incidents.
Soon the doctor came and checked on Kaira. “How is she, doctor?" Devansh asked promptly after the doctor was done with the check up. “There is nothing to worry about. She might have fainted because of stress or lack of energy. Make sure she consume a proper diet as she is pregnant. As you are the only elder here, she is all your responsibility." The doctor patted his shoulder before excusing herself.
