"Yes, the child has a father." Words made their way out of his mouth leaving me frozen. He was supporting me during this situation. I felt a warmness in my chest.
"And how can you be so sure ? As if you know who the man is?" The leech in front of us, Mona spat while twisting her neck, dramatically. She was also having her fake-nailed finger pointing at Devansh.
"Because I know him." He simply replied. I saw him gulping. After restoring his words in my brain, my eyes went wider. I stepped back and watched him. It was incredulous for me. I heard Sakshi's gasp while John muttered a 'no' These actions were indicating something suspicious. They were definitely hiding something.
I clutched over Devansh's arm,"What is the secret ? What is it being veiled from me, huh?" My eyes were blurry due to tears. "Devansh speak, please!" I was getting a feeling that it was related to my kid which made me cry to him.
He looked down at me. His gaze had a weird look, which I had never seen in my whole life. It was a combination of feelings that was displaying in his eyes.
"Aww..look, our baby is crying for her lollipop. Come on, Devansh, don't be a jerk. Give her what she wants. Tell her the truth. Tell her who is the dumb for this whore." She eyed me up and down with a smirk.
How badly I wanted to choke her.
"You know what, Mona? I don't want to use this word but in reality, you are a whore. The woman who enjoys and gets pleasure with another man while having her own man hold their child for 24/7 and wait for his woman everyday, is an actual whore. Doesn't it hurt your motherly feeling? Don't you have a pinch of shame in you?" Mona was awestruck. Her eyes were almost red and her nostrils were flaring. She moved towards me to attack me. She wrapped her hands around my neck. I kicked her hard on her stomach throwing her away from me.
"NEVER DARE TO PUT YOUR UNHOLY HAND ON ME, YOU FUCKING LEECH." I roared. My arms were gripped by someone from behind. I was pulled behind. My back met a hard and warm chest, my anger calmed slightly. The feeling and touch was familiar. My eyes welled up again, I turned and dug my head into the chest,"Please say the truth, Devansh. I can't bear it anymore!"
"Yesh, Kaira. You will not bear all this anymore! I will make everything better, I promise. Both you and our child will get the best life." He kept caressing my back.
And...Suddenly his words strike my mind. I breath stuck midway. I raised my head. He glanced at me then turned away his face and shut his eyes, tightly, as if he was controlling his tears.
Did he say 'our child? OUR?
I frowned while being pierced with a huge level of confusion. "W-What? P-Please rep-eat-repeat, Devansh!" I wailed a request.
His eyes held sorrow and guilt. He wanted to say a lot but his voice was lost. I could see and feel it from his eyes.
My hand took themselves to his cheeks. I lovingly asked him,"D-Devansh, please tell me what you want to say. Please!" I whispered the last word.
His arms were all of a sudden around my back. "I want to apologise, Kaira. It is me who dragged you into this situation. I was unaware that I was the reason behind your traumatic life. I should have known it but stupid me never knew it. I did not know that the child growing inside you is mine. I did not realise that, that night while I was sleeping with that girl, I made her pregnant. I swear, Kiara, I had no idea about it." My mind was still processing his words.
My life at that second turned upside down. I jerked myself away from him. I was in shock. In literal shock. I wandered my gaze around the hall. All were surprised by his confession. Mona was having wide eyes.
She noticed my stare and squinted her eyes. She made her way to me only to be pushed away from Devansh. He was having his gun pointing towards her,"No Mona, Not today. Today I won't let you come near my family. Whenever you enter into my life, you bring troubles and disasters in my life. You have taken away most of my people, but today I won't let you come near my woman and child. They are mine and I will go to any extent to protect them. It does not matter to me if I will have to take away anybody's life for that. AND KEEP THAT IN YOUR MIND!" He pushed the gun against her forehead.
I had lost my voice somewhere, unable to find it. I felt like my heart had stopped beating. My head was heavy because of all these noises. None of my body parts were in motion.
All of a sudden my legs started shivering. I felt something happening in my chest. I wanted to throw away all of my eaten food and empty my stomach but I could not.
"NO! THIS IS NOT TRUE. DEVANSH, YOU CAN'T DO THIS! HOW COULD YOU-" I understood all my energy was dying. I felt kicks inside my stomach. My trembling hand went to it, caressing it softly. Black dots started appearing in my view. The surroundings were getting blurry. Everything was moving at a slow pace. I felt like I was going to fall. My legs started stumbling. All these were happening until a whole black light surrounded me making my body get completely weightless to be stable. The slightest thing that I realised that I did not get any hurt neither did I fall, rather I felt warmness.
Maybe the stars of heaven are also tired of my rollercoaster problematic life.
