She's super tiny with a small green cap on her head and a matching onesie. She squirms in the crib and her fluffy pink blanket is bunched under her feet.
"What? Who could've left a baby all alone here? You don't even look five months old." Her face scrunches up and she cries. I begin to panic, shushing her and waving my hands in front of her face. I have absolutely no idea what to do. Do I pick her up and rock her? Do I run out the room and pretend I was never there? Do I call child line? The door opens and a shiver runs down my spine.
"What the fuck are you doing here?"
His voice is deep. His tone is raised just a pinch and I can sense trouble.
I immediately turn around to face the stranger. "I-" My voice hitches as I see the same face of the guy I saw at Golden Ray. The one who kept staring at me. His gaze doesn't waver when he sees me which is expected. I doubt he would've remembered me anyway. But what are the chances of us meeting again? Is this a sign from the universe?
He doesn't wait for my answer. "Get out." His tone is cold as he takes long strides toward me.
Oh no. What is he gonna do? What will he do to the baby? I inch closer to the crib and stand inbetween it and him. "I'm not leaving. There's a baby in here and I doubt you're welcome here either."
His lips flicker upwards for a second before he brushes past me to the baby. He places the blanket over her stomach and gently strokes her cheek. "It's alright Lumi. I'm here." The baby instantly calms down and I'm beyond shocked. I've never seen a man so good with children before.
My jaw is literally on the ground and my eyes are bulging out of my head. Just who is this guy? He turns to me.
"Why are you still here?" I'm at a loss for words and my mouth keeps opening and closing yet nothing comes out. He sighs and leans against the wall right next to the window. He pinches the bridge of his nose. "I said this room is off limits."
"No one told me that, I was just looking for the bathroom." He stays silent. "How did you know she was crying?" I ask, glancing down at the baby. Her eyes roam around the room as she wiggles her fingers. "I have a baby monitor." He answers softly, and I almost don't hear him.
"Oh. Is she your sister?"
"Yeah."
"Why's she here then? Why isn't she with your parents?"
"You ask a lot of questions." He says before rolling his eyes. I stand there awkwardly for a few seconds, watching the baby before I turn around to leave. Just as my hand touches the door handle, he talks.
"What's your name?" I turn around to face him. "Quinn. What about you?"
"Ji."
"Ji." I repeat. "Is it short for anything?" He shakes his head. When he doesn't say anything else, I leave. My trip to find the bathroom is unsuccessful so I go back to Bronwyn and Tobias.
Before I can reach them, two extremely attractive blonde guys stop me. "Not gonna lie, you're hot as hell." Says the one with long hair in a braid and glasses on. "Where you headed babe?" Asks the one with short hair.
They both have shocking blue eyes, the purest I've seen. The taller one has on a gray suit with a red tie which surprises me cause I thought this party has a dress code. His glasses seem to match his outfit though. The shorter one has a more laid back outfit on. Baggy jeans, sneakers and a black long sleeve jersey. He has two nose piercings and a septum.
The taller one has stubble across his sharp jaw and chin. They're both leaning really close to me now and I can smell expensive cologne.
"What's your name, pretty baby?" Asks the tall one. "Um Quinn." I'm not nervous out of fear, I'm nervous at how attractive they look. It's like they stepped out of a fantasy romance book.
